I quite like the changes. There are some short-comings for sure, but the game looks a lot better, flowed nicely. It was nice to see some exchanges between the AMs and strikers.
I was opened up like a can of worms by a 1-2-3 drawing out my CB then sliding in behind him.

Yeah it could take some time. Good thing is we've got a few NT friendlies to tweak around what works and what doesn't. I'm considering possible applications because I'm not so sure some areas of my usual tactics are going to be as successful under the new M.E. Won't get to trial this new M.E until about week 14/15 for my club though, so I'll have to use the NT tactics to get a grip of the new strengths/weaknesses.

That's still the old M.E for the record :p. The new M.E won't be used for friendlies until all national cups are finished, so after the Puchar Polski finishes in round 13.

Really? The game looked different today, maybe it was just the tactics me and Snappa used. Noticed a lot of cross-field and back passes.

Would be 99% certain, because the cup is an official competition like league matches and playoff matches. Cross passes were pretty frequent before too under certain tactical situations. Watch the New Zealand v Iceland game last weekend and you'll notice a huge difference ;).

Well as I said previously, I've been enjoying the current ME.
It will be interesting to see when the new comes into play for friendlies. I admit I haven't watched any NT games from the weekend.

Yeah, if they can patch up a few things the new ME should be quite enjoyable. I've enjoyed the current one as well, flexible for a few different tactics although there's a few which have advantages over most other tactics and I guess that's what has resulted in the current changes as certain tactics were becoming too common/dominating.

Will be under the new M.E again this weekend when we play Japan so it will be my first taste outside of watching matches to set a tactic for the new style of play.

"Any changes to this new engine will be assessed during NT friendlies and club friendlies, with this version of the engine being official starting next season. Playoff games will still use the current version of the match engine." - guacamole in the news.

I would swear that my game played differently to normal today as well. Not huge differences, but different all the same. A heck of a lot more passing to open mids from other mids being the major difference.

That would mean they'd have to play matches on different M.E as some are still in cups. I don't think they'd do that. I know what the news says but I'm still certain that club friendlies means in the weeks when everyone is on friendlies. I can check for confirmation if you want but I'd be very surprised if that wasn't the usual M.E we've been using. Didn't notice any difference in my game from normal.

Again, wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong but there's too much a similarity to the current M.E and a massive difference from the M.E tested during the NT friendly on Saturday to convince me to believe it was the new M.E used today. (Unless I had confirmation.)

You could be right, it wasn't my most common tactic, so maybe that's what fooled me into seeing something that wasn't there.
