Asunto: Seasonal Competition
Did anybody get a copy of the code before cometer started revealing it bit by bit?
That would have helped heaps in cracking the code... ;)

For those that didn't take it down, the original code was:
93,94,98,87,51,8,73,89,12,30,94,30,61,51,50,51,12,89,45,45,Y,93,16,61,30,8,98,87,46,16,94,98,93
That's in fairness to everyone as I've already given out the original code to some. Also might see more answers ;).

4th clue is now up, hint has been issued for cracking the code.
Getting close to your last chance to score points :).
Getting close to your last chance to score points :).
5th and final clue up now. Your final chance to get points in this competition and have players represent the NT in the match this week against Malaysia. Code's been simplified some more by removing and illustrating the spaces.
Going to close the competition now, to give people chance to get their player in.
The correct answer for the final round was Jeremy Timpano, whilst the secret clue could be discovered by noting that each letter was transformed into the country id of the starting letter of the first country on the list. So A = 89 etc.
The coded message actually said Timpano originally from TBF.
In terms of clues, the 1st was fairly obvious to determine what it meant.
The 2nd was referring to different positions such as DM, Winger, Central Midfield and Striker.
The 3rd was probably the first real opportunity to get the solution without too much effort, all you had to realize was that Chile was a South American team he had played and we'd only ever played Chile on one occasion. I suppose also you could have used the 2nd half of the clue in looking through world cup matches looking for those who had played but hadn't started. Could have arrived at the same solution.
5th clue was pretty much a give away as most of the 5th clues have been.
Points up shortly, those already aware of getting a player to play start sending in your players. Bit of short notice due to the extra days of no competition clues during Christmas so you have until Friday night to get your player selection in.
As usual if we end up with less than 14 participants, I'll get the first pick after all participants have selected their 1st pick, then it will go from the top of the ladder down again until the picks are completed.
Thanks for entering the competition.

Thanks cometer. You put a lot of effort into this one. Good fun digging through past results and getting a bit more familiar with the achievements of players from past and present.
Dunno why, but I checked Timpano and something wasn't working.
The most assists I've ever achieved in any NT game is 3. (Up at 8:42 2008-12-30)
Which game? I've checked stats and max was 2...

I'm blind, or these are too old games to be in stats. :P

borkos007
probably both :p. These games are far enough back that stats won't show them, which makes it fun trying to track down performances of players who have played a large number of games, like I had to do when making the HOF stats. Have to manually go through games to locate where they are. I try to make clues such that the stats page doesn't give too much of an advantage away to those who have got plus ;).
Only received a small handful of players so far, need them in asap since the game is tomorrow. Anyone in the top 3 pick 2 players each, and if I don't hear from any, I'll randomly select a player of yours that I've got.
GOod thing you chose Webber, I have no other Australian players worth playing :(
(I'm on holidays, so I have limited internet access. Can't wait to pull my Magical on Thursday though :P)

Have we had m/any unearthly youth pulls in Australia?
