The ave pop is the total number of weeks divided by the total pops which worked with the old training system but not after they changed it like 6 or more years ago. Can see how it always makes the talent seem better than the true talent

Work got in the way of me bidding at deadline. :(

Anyhoo....pace pops for Elrich (5), Collina (8), Salapasidis (10).

So an interesting round (which could be good or bad for us, leaning towards the bad at this stage).

Honduras (our next opponent) beat Latvija. This goes to show how stong Honduras actually are, despite being the 5th seeded in our group (we are 4th, Latvija 3rd).

But Latvija took a point a couple of rounds ago against a top 2 team.

What this means is if we lose tomorrow, we are solidly in 5th which is not where we want to be, given we have had pretty good results against the teams seeded 1,2 and 6.

If we win tomorrow, it puts us in the hunt for 3rd, with a very outside chance of trying to hunt for 2nd.

The other bad news is I just went away on holiday so have a very limited internet connection, and the wrong laptop with me (don't have all the U21 player skills).

Anyway hopefully our boys can bring home the win with me trying to remember skills etc. against a very strong 5th seeded team, which will surely be much higher in rank by the end of the season.

Australia vs Latvija Friendly

So I have been away the past couple of weeks, travelling through our neighbours country (NZ)

Because of this is has been last minute tactic selection and squad selection (often without my skill sheet), and have also tried to blood some new players to stop them potentially going bot.

Last week we played and beat Latvija, who also happens to be in our WC pool, which I knew we could beat about 50:50, despite blooding 3 new players.

The world cup is also at the mid point and we aren't where we would like to be given Latvija beat us, Honduras beat Latvija, but we drew with Honduras. It does show how close the teams are given we then went on to beat Latvija in a friendly, and Latvija drew with 2nd place Belgie as well.

One thing that has potentially really hurt is almost all our striker trainers are MIA (and have been since before I took over) with skills or with sokker and they aren't getting trained.

Our future is also hurting a bit as some players that have great potential are also not getting trained as they are stuck in the relatively inactive Aus teams.

For anyone outside of agbell and fantum reading this, if you want to get involved and really see your players make the NT sides, contact me, because we could use a few more dedicated trainers for Aussie players

Had to try something new against Honduras for the win (at a 5 rating point disadvantage) and it didn't come off. Defenders fumbling balls back to back really cost us that match (yes, one of the goals we conceeded was and own goal).

The good thing was we kept them to just 5 shots overall, which shows a good defensive effort

Ooh, if you have any travel highlights for NZ let me know. We will be there next year for a couple of weeks.

Have so many highlights. We did put in some chill time, but for the rest it was flat out and was all fun.

Traveled through the north island only though.

PAOK now has a junior team & has joined the league so might be worth a pm to see what they're intending for training/youth development?
I've messaged cisco about starting a youth setup as well...he's not ready yet, but will keep nudging every now & then.

Australia vs Spain

0:1 loss to Spain is a fantastic result given their ratings are 17 higher than ours, couldn't have asked for much more realistically.

Our injuries and cards have finally subsided which has been nice.

Aus vs Philipinas

Actually got to watch this game live and I can say it was disappointing to only win 1-0.

We had two shots hit the post, and another open goal all miss, plus just a lot of pot shots.

Philipinas actually did enough to probably deserve one goal, but we should have got 3 or 4.

Anyway, a win at the end of the day is a good result

I also forgot to mention, the teams rated 45.6 (Aus) vs 45.3 (Philipines), and that is with Newton getting 32 more points than their goalie. So in the field, they really outrated us by about 3.

And we had 16 shots to 3.

Have been a little slack updating this.

Tonight we beat Sarkavelo 1-0. A very even match against a higher ranked team. Still having some shot conversion issues (1 from 9) but had enough good chances to finally put away the winner.

And just a slight humble brag, Both reynolds and bailey popped in Def this week, which really made our defensive line look quite strong skill wise
