Looks like they've been hit with the OCD stick, if transfer activity & the fact there are 84 players in the squad are anything to go by. :)

Nice little win overnight against Moldova. Added the v5 tactic to the line-up.
Moldova are ranked 12 places higher than us and have a rating 5 higher than us, but we got off the same number of shots as one another and our strikers converted better.

Lovely!

Good win today against a very similar strength team. 4:2 will help our push towards a possible (but unlikely) 3rd pot for the world cup

Was just scouting Italy, and they have an 18yo Divine Keeper. Sure the secondaries suck, but 18yo Divine...FML

That's almost impossible!! Must've been an early season talented 16yr old I guess.

The last two weeks have got us 2:0 wins over senegal and nigeria. Would have liked to have put more goals past both of them, but the wins ensure we get some points, and more importantly, don't lose points with us slowly creeping towards that 3rd bucket for the U21 WC.

Next week we are playing Kypros (who we were meant to play this week), and not Italy as originally planned, this Italy match has been postponed until next season.

The other good thing to come from the last two matches is I have managed to blood a couple of future players, so we don't lose them to going bot, or getting fired.

With a couple of new users in Australia, who have a few interesting juniors, I will continue doing this. For those active Australians, you may find your player out of the squad if they aren't a regular, but don't take this as a bad thing, I just know they are safe in your hands, and they won't be fired/you won't go bot.

Yet another 2-0 win. Dominated Kypros in the field with 8 shots to 1.

We are having a few form issues to key players, but otherwise not doing too bad.

Next week will be a lot harder. We are coming up against a stronger NZ team, so we are certainly underdogs going in to it. It may be what makes or breaks our run for the 3rd seed box in next seasons world cup, but none the less, a match against those across the ditch is always fun, regardless of the result

So the winning streak came to an end as expected, but out boys put up a good fight.
They had a few chances to draw, but really, NZ, who were the higher rated team (and U20, not even U21), deserved the win and got it.

That probably puts an end to the slight hope of getting a 3rd basket, but really out team isn't 3rd basket quality after taking such a big hit from out past set of 21yos. Will be interested to see how next seasons group compares to this seasons (I always compare week 0 to week 0 to get an idea).

So a little offtopic but after following the Dev chat, and some topics, one user came up with a way to quantify average number of youth pulls in a country per week, and his math is pretty good (without knowing which teams are actually active.

What does this say about Australia?
It says that all things considered, if all the teams which currently have a youth school in place (12 of 16) pulled youths, we should be Ranked #56 in sokker. So 56 should be our Par, especially for youths.

What more can I do with the numbers?
Well after looking at the teams, I saw that 4 of those 12 are actually inactive users (like no log ins at all), that have youths in youth schools. So if we remove those teams from the equation, our new PAR rank is Equal 61-65 (all have the same potential).

So just by looking at total numbers, if our teams are rank 56 or above, we are doing better than we deserve to be. But looking at actual active users (ie ones who log in, not even necessarily do things with youth schools), if we are 65th or above, our teams are doing very well.

It looks like everyone around us lost this week, so we actually moved up to 51st place.

Unfortunately 48th is 90pts ahead of us, with just two games remaining. So we would need some good wins, and a fair bit of luck to go our way

Our strikers failed us today.

Despite a couple of injuries (pre-match), we should have won by a lot, and instead got a draw.

Luckily it doesn't really make any difference to anything coming in to next season with us being too far behind to realistically make it in to the 3rd bucket after Moldova beat New Zealand (Moldova were ranked 48 ie the last team in the third bucket) and we were already 90points behind them with just two matches to come.

And we let in that one goal in the last minute of the match

Good news, sokker Asistente now sends me your U21 player skills if you have the checkbox box ticketed and send through the skills.

They will also do this for agbell and the main team if he logs in.

Awesome. I won't spam you any longer.

I'm still good with spam, as it gets my attention, but it isn't necessary now at least. Good for if you are in a rush or likely to forget to spam

So for the last match for the current U21s, we played UAE. We dominated the match, with 10 shots to 2, but unfortunately only won 1-0.

I will write a wrap up at some stage, but overall it has been a pretty successful season for this group of players, especially given how much worse they were than the previous lot.

All our strikers are 21 so will be getting the sack, which is a little scary moving in to the world cup season, as are almost all our defenders (but at least we have depth there).

Our GK will remain unchanged and the mids are a bit of a mixed bag.
