Asunto: National Team U21
Not just from time to time ;) I'm sure davio will still be involved with the NT almost as much as he is currently, but one feels he may need a break? (including himself) Why not take over for a season or 3 Borkos? =)

it's been 1pt the last 3 campaigns. Feels like climbing Everest only to be blown back down just before you reach the summit ;).
In fairness, we probably would have qualified yet again had the draws been setup properly, with new teams not getting the 3rd seeds.
Still we're not far off breaking into the WC on more occasions.
As for taking the job back, I'll keep it in mind, I'm always open for competition. Means you've actually got more than 1 decent candidate to choose the best from.
At the moment though, I've still got that drive to make 1 WC to rectify the poor performance at the only WC I've been the manager ;).
Again though, depends on when people get sick of me being the manager and want change.
I certainly don't wish to hog the NT from others getting the opportunity but at the same time I enjoy being the manager too. Australia's a great NT to manage as the userbase isn't puny that you've got nothing to work with but at the same time it's not massive that you've got to decide between 20 different double divine players each week for every position. Finally qualification is always a challenge but not an impossible one.

i didn't meant that I want to overtake you as NT coach :) Just if you need a brake - there wasn't even a slightest idea in my mind about starting against you in the elections :)
@Tigermaster
In next season I'm starting in Belgie with quite good backup I think, so 1 season would be all for now. :P

the resident spammer is always welcome back for a second term :P
Hmm when I come back I'm pretty sure I'll run for one of the two jobs, just not quite sure which one =)

I'm interested to do the interim while Tiger & Naph are in Europe at the only condition I have someone doing it with me full-time (could be more than 1 guy as well).
I don't mind running myself if I can find co-coach and vice-versa if someone want an assistant.
Minkee, I reckon you'd be an excellent choice for U21 NT coach. I'd be more than happy to form a partnership with you, running the team together. Tigermaster will be a great asset in getting you established in the role, then I can offer any support you need throughout the season.
The U21 NT has some exciting times ahead. I'd like to be a part of it in some capacity. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide whether you want to (and have the time to) take on the responsibility.

That's us sorted I think... U21 co-coach Vivski :)
I think we'll make an announcement shortly and present things tidily once we all agree on the terms...

pressing with players that don't have pace and no coverage in the centre of midfield equals bad idea. That just spells disaster and it happened.
I guess it wasn't really a press as such, was more defenders being pushed forward into no man's land, similarly midfielders in Turnbull and Sterjovski often went so far upfield that any quick turnover left us exposed (and got exposed). Midfield offense is a difficult one because if you're too offensive you run the risk of conceding off the break.

looked pretty okay to me most of the time, except when adkins had to run up to cover the strikers. more of a case of tired legs later in the game imo.
On a positive note, a huge thanks to Tigermaster for this season's efforts. Check out our qualifying group for next season :O.
1. Australia U21
2. Ukraina U21
3. Andorra U21
4. Uruguay U21
5. Honduras U21
6. Misr U21
What a run. Really only Uruguay is "likely" to beat us, possibly Ukraine might have a stronger side than I've rated them as, but we play them next week in a comp match anyway ;).

Pretty Stoked about that draw =) Australia really should finish top 2 in this group and Qualify for the U21WC! It would be a credit to the hard work that has been put in by all Australian users and training up our own Youth. This also means we should have a very good chance of making a World cup for once! (Sorry dave, just had to put it out there)
This week we play Ukraine in our Competition match, and we also end up playing them two weeks in a row. This could work to our advantage as this week we will be playing selected players, whereas I would be expecting them to come out with their first string side.
Dont forget to get your players into me, At the very latest, by Wednesday as I would like to be starting to make the tactic wednesday night or thursday night.

I've got us there before :p. I have a 1/4 success rate except the past 3 have been short by 1 point or less ;).

Awesome draw... :)
The work done in the first U21 season has paid off!
Well done TM.
We still have to deliver though and get one of the top two spots, there's no room for complacency...

Sure isn't. At the same time we could have got a horrid draw like Bulgaria's group or group B. We avoided that so that's a positive start.
