To start off, we say farewell to our current U21 team. Although not exhaustive, these are the players mostly used, who made this season what it was

GK - Fihaki - an amazing GK, who has been around the NT team since he was 19. Will likely walk in to the Seniors next season
DEF - Collina - Led the defensive line. Absolute beast. Going to be a great Senior NT player
DEF - Last - always in Collina's shadow, and doesn't like ratings, but 2nd defender always picked
DEF - Martinovic - In the team at 18. He is going to get a lot of game time leading our team for another 3 seasons to come
DEF - Hoang - will be good to have him back for another year
DEF - Coulthard - Think his selection was even a surprise to his manager
MID - Hill - Leading the strong midfield on the wing, we get another season of his excellence
MID - Jones - could have made it as a DEF or MID. Shame he got some injuries, but definitely one for the future
MID - Worthy at only 19, it's exciting to see where he will finish up
ATT - Van Gisbergen - can never get his name right, but number 1 striker when in form. Sadly form has been lacking this season
ATT - Morgan - Saved from a team that went bot and has been a great save. Could make it as a DEF or ATT. Still got another season to come
--------------------------------
GK - Farmer - Unlucky not to get more game time (again) but stuck behind the amazing Fihaki Will dominate this role next season
ATT - Silvagni - Hotly contested spot this, and really it's just a draw from the hat
ATT - Zane - Once again hotly contested. Was Zane at the start of the season, and Marth at the end
DEF - Henry - A bit rough to be putting him on the bench here, got plenty of minutes and didn't disappoint
MID - Prince - Finally getting his chance in the midfield. Was the complete package, just needed a bit of passing to be useful, and here it comes, for the agbell dominated midfield next season (likely with Van Gisbergen joining Prince and Hill)

Now some rushed underage groups.
If your player isn't selected here, it doesn't mean they won't make it. I may have overlooked, they may have the same skills and I just had to pick one, or form may get them, so keep training (ie we have about 15 defenders on the same pace+def skill point calculation)

These are approx 14man teams

U21
GK: Farmer, Farmer
DEF: Martinovic, Hoang, Collins, Nesic, Majurovski
MID: Hill, Prince, Van Gisbergen, Worthy
ATT: Trajcevski, Morgan, Silvagni

U20
GK : Borg, Hudson
DEF: Martinovic, Collins, Majurovski, Agius, Stewart
MID: Van Gisbergen, Worthy, Brosque, Upton
ATT: Trajcevski, Mairou, Marapodi

U19
GK: Borg, Simpson
DEF: Martinovic, Majurovski, Arrate, Ashton, Hayden
MID: Brosque, Upton, Cook, Flatt
ATT: Tracevski, Marrapodi, Duffield

U18
GK: Borg, Love
DEF: Arrate, Whitley, Madaschi, Winterbottom, Elrich
MID: Cook, Peters, Allen, Ho
ATT: Horsley, Guard, McConville

So brief rundown.
Had a pretty poor season overall. Between time constraints and a bit of poor luck, it is what it is. However we did tend to do well against the best teams, just did poor against the poor teams
Finished the season with a nice win over a team ranked higher than us.
We did also take another big hit in terms of team strength from the previous season, losing 10% value (which is a loss of 35% from 2 seasons prior. This probably reflects more the downturn in number of youths we had before the increase in activity within Australia again.

So where are we now?

Users: 12 --> 13 --> 17 --> 20
Rank: 50 --> 54 --> 52 --> 60
Rank points: 1587.30 --> 1554.23 --> 1598.71 -->1344.67
Number of players: 38 --> 40 --> 40 --> 40
Average form: excellent --> excellent --> very good --> excellent
Average age: 19.9 --> 19.9 --> 19.5 --> 19.5
Average value: 518 811 AU$ --> 373 570 AU$ --> 338 350 AU$ --> 352 310 AU$
Total value: 19 714 800 AU$ --> 14 942 800 AU$ --> 13 534 000 AU$ --> 14 092 400 AU$

So for the first time in many seasons, we see an improvement in average value. Now our average form has gone up a little (which will raise the value a little) but we also lost Fihaki, who had a huge value and was raising our average value a lot (the same possible drop will happen when we lose Farmer at the end of this season).

This increase represents about a 5% increase in value, so hopefully we can keep this trend going.

We will be involved in the U20 MWC this season. I've said before, I don't really like doing this, as I think its a bit of a kick in the teeth for those who train players to be good in the non-WCQ years, but it's too hard to organise friendlies otherwise.

I will also be trying to organise a "debut" game early in the season, to give our juniors a bit of a safety net in case they get fired. As the season goes on, and I need to remove some, they become susceptible to disappearing, but there's only so much that can be done. Every player that participated in our last Debut match is still with us, so I will take this as a success.

Here's the team for our annual "Cap" match.
It's basically to capture any players who look like they may have a future with the Aus U21 team, so that I can do my best to save them from being fired without the Aus community having had a chance to get one last bid on them.

This has saved a couple of players in the past, and all of last years players from the Cap Match against NZ, are still with us.

Here's the lineup

Squad
1 Patrick Simpson GK
2 Harry Whitley DEF
3 Alex Arrarte DEF
4 Wesley Agius DEF
5 Ross Winterbottom DEF
6 Brett Stewart DEF
7 Royce McConville MID
8 Anthony Giannakopoulos MID
9 Brock Ho MID
10 Oliver Marrapodi ATT
11 Husein Horsley ATT

12 Harley McIlroy GK
13 DEF
14 Brad Peters DEF
15 Eugene Slade DEF
16 DEF

Now the team we are playing are going to try to do their best to not make it a complete blowout, with a few new caps, or 2nds etc. but I'm not going to hold them to any promises, and really never expect to win these matches, as the real point is saving youngsters.

So good luck for anyone who may have a player playing in this match, and it's why the lineup seems so weird

Thanks mate.

I've managed to get some of the young players lost in bot teams released on to the transfer market. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of quality there but would be a few good spot fillers especially for the new teams who don't need much to survive in div 2.

Or if anyone wants to bid and then release that would also be good. I may do this myself as I feel bad about getting them released and then not selling.
