Asunto: National Team U21
Another nice dominant win today coming up against China, who has twice as many users as Australia (I don't count the 6-7 teams that have literally signed up and done nothing, which given 3 share the same ip and just left, makes me think it's someone in sokker trying to further depreciate Australia's div II prestige).
Final scoreline was only 1-0 to Australia but all the other stats were in our favour, including 14 shots to 4.
Shame we can't keep this team for next season, as they are certainly performing this season.

This week we played the #4 Romanian team.
The tactics and team selection were a bit rushed as I've been on holidays but we got a draw against them which was pretty good.
They got more shots but we had the better field position.
This moved us up to rank 55 in what has been a good start to the season

Very nice score.

I was in Canberra, where there have been a number of Sokker users in the past (and at least one current one).
An ex-sokker player (Ti6erma5ter) went away so I took over his place whilst holidaying down there
Was damn cold, so I'm happy to be back in the warm weather

Just as an FYI
We played the Mini World Cup earlier this season, where we were knocked out in the Quarter Finals 1-0. Well Srbija went on to win the MWC, so given that, losing by 1 goal to the winners, I am very pleased with that effort.
Our next challenge is the Asian world cup, where some World Cup Group stage teams return. We are seeded 5th, so hopefully we can get some good results

I'm sure you missed the closeness of the Great Barrier Reef. Or got used to it you don't even pay much attention anymore :)
Do you stay in touch with Adam? Or anyone here? We used to talk a lot on the old Microsoft messenger called MSN/Windows Live Messenger but lost contact after he gave sokker up and the communicator went off.

Only when you have friends there haha.
Also probably the safest place to go to avoid the ol' COVID these days

Nice little win 2-0 over Kypros, leading in to the start of the Asian Cup.
Pretty dominant performance, let's hope we can keep this momentum going

Our first round of the Asian Cup was a success, although would have liked to have put a few more goals past them.
I messed up the time, and actually didn't get a specific tactic/team set for the match, but luckily it was against a low ranked team, so we still came home with a 3-0 win.
First goal is to make sure we get the wins again both Prathet Thai (done) and Daehan Minguk to ensure we go through to the Quarter Finals.

2nd Round of the Asian Cup was today, and we played Daehan Minguk U21.
After a deadlocked first 20min where we had all the possession but struggled to break the defensive line, the goals suddenly started flowing scoring 3 in quick succession.
We then went on to miss an open goal, a penalty kick, and Casserly decided to just pump shots in the general direction of the goals, but with all that we still managed a 4-0 win, and a 28-0 shot count.
Next week is our real challenge for the group stage, up against the very strong Israel team. Barring any crazy upset between Prathet Thai and Israel, tonights win should have guaranteed us a spot at the knockout stages

Great job. Sometimes these weaker teams (at least on the paper) can really cause some big troubles. You somehow always manage not to get surprised and what is even better, surprise us with each another week coming.
He is from my experience, one of our (Australian user) best tacticians (would even be in the discussion of "the best" we've ever had). Has over a decade experience in this game and combining the two, there aren't too many other local users I'd put into the same league. I don't think I'm very surprised at all to be getting the results we are.
The other factor is the role will become potentially easier as the seasons go on as a few of us have come back to the game giving us additional numbers in terms of the player pool.
Still, you can only beat what you're up against and 2 from 2 in this comp so far is a good start.
