Asunto: National Team U21
Both Nippon and Australia dominated on for and against in the group stage. Australia going 16-1 (the 1 being our loss), and Nippon going 16-2 in a high scoring affair against Misr.
Come the finals, Nippon has won 1:0 against Saudi Arabia, and 4:1 against Daehan Minguk
Australia has won 2:1 vs India and 1:0 vs Russia.

Well done. You might’ve pantsed them without all those offsides!
Well done in back to back u21 Asian cups. Solid performance even with turner getting injured early. Probably should have been a bigger margin but at the end of the day the win is the most important thing.
Great game Nippon, was some great back and forward during that match, especially in the 2nd half.
Australia had the earlier injury to out #1 defender however I did have an order in to cover this thankfully.
Zillman had an absolute cracker of a game, especially as he only played one half scoring twice from 5 shots. The third was a corker or a shot from the corner of the box by my own midfielder Burke.
Shortly after the 3rd goal, it looked like things were going to go from bad to worse when Nippon's goalkeeper was injured, but instead, this fired up the Nippon players. Their substitute goalkeeper Hirai, finally getting his chance to prove himself, was a wall, and didn't let another goal in all game. Meanwhile, the strikers from Nippon decided to take matters in to their own hands with a beautiful cross from Uchiyama to Oniki to catch the Australian Keeper napping and scored, forcing an immediate GK change.
After this, no more goals were scored by either team, but there were plenty of quality shots taken and slick footwork.
The champions of the Asian Cup Season 6 this year are AUSTRALIA
Runners-up NIPPON
3rd place ROSSIYA
and coming in at a very respectable 4th, my team of the tournament, DAEHAN MINGUK
Thank you everyone for participating this season.
I look forward to running this again in 2 seasons time and already have some added ideas, including....a Mini Asian Cup

Next season is looking alright.
We have a decent GK for next season. Not our usual Divine+ level, but not far off and nice and fast.
Our strikers look back on par with what we have come to get used too. This season our strikers were our weakest link, but as Zillman proved today, they are still clutch at the right moment.
Happy with how the MIDs are looking, many of them have debuted this season
And defenders are looking alright as well actually.
I think we should have a pretty strong team for next season. I am about to go on holidays so haven't worked out whether holidays will interfere with our first couple of WCQ matches, but will still do my best.
As far as players who look like they will be playing a lot of games next season (remember this is not final, and many players I don't say often end up playing and even staring in matches).

Plesa (20)
Ponting (20) - cometer
DEF

Renaud (20) - cometer
Myers (20) - Vampyr
Patterson (20) - Romaldino

Oliviera (20) - fantum

(probably not huge minutes for McColl and Oliveira unless form issues or injuries hit the top 2)

Wouldn’t surprise me if Scuderi or Schofield catch some of those mids during next season (more likely later in the season).
I will continue to run but always happy to step aside if another experienced Aussie wants a go.
Big achievements recently were qualifying for the WC and almost making it to the knock out stage as well as winning the Asian Cup back to back.
Still travelling for a couple more weeks so will be a difficult time period, but back to usual after that

So to finish the season, I decided we could try pushing ourselves with a match against the Number 22 ranked team (after we narrowly missed out on a second basket (top 34) for the WCQ being ranked 38th as far as the draw was concerned, and moving up to 35th at the next update.
Well it wasn't convincing but we did sneak the win, which will well and truly put us in to 2nd basket territory, well above where our size country should be, but it just goes to show what an awesome job everyone has done here, moving us up from as low as the 70s at one stage.
I will start releasing normal end of season stats and try to get a couple of interesting team lineups posted for interests sake.
As always, happy to take questions or suggestions moving forward if anyone would like to see something (stats, different types of matches for friendlies etc)

Definitely punching above your division, so great work….as with Cometer too.
All that remains for me are some decent youth pulls.

For the first time, with the exception of any brief moment when u21s first came out, we are back in to the 2nd basket, just. Not sure it will be sustainable but good to see we can get there again
