For the first time, with the exception of any brief moment when u21s first came out, we are back in to the 2nd basket, just. Not sure it will be sustainable but good to see we can get there again

Second basket is from 17 to 32...you guys are in the 3rd basket ,34th place, but you have a good chance to qualify , getting Ukraine from the second pot...good performance with the team though...

That's what it used to be until they made 17 groups for qualifications.
1st basket 1-17
2nd basket 18-34
and so on

Ukraine was actually position 34 when the groups got drawn.
So there's two ways of looking at it - what actually happened - based on rankings, we were 3rd pot and got an "easy" 2nd pot (haven't actually looked at strength of side, just ranking)
Or the more fun way - we were just in the second pot, and got a difficult 3rd pot :D

Why did they make 17 groups? Seems an odd number to pick.
2023-03-28 09:32:38
98 teams into as many even groups as possible playing home and away in reduced season of 13 weeks. That equates to 98/6 which gives you 16.333 so you need 17 groups. That’s likely your answer. Like 16 groups of 6 would effectively mean the bottom 2 teams ranked every second season could only play each other which isn’t exactly fun or exciting.

Edit: So yeah not weird unless you find basic maths weird :p

Ah, I was thinking it was tourney, but it’s qualifying so all must participate. And I can’t decide if you were being patronising or condescending, perhaps my English is as poor as my maths ;)
2023-03-28 11:12:39
My English isn’t perfect either. Was more aimed at if you work through the maths of it all a 17 group scenario isn’t that weird and probably is the most logical solution. Wasn’t trying to flex or make myself superior as I’m well aware of my limitations. Now if we were really smart we’d have a solution where due to uneven teams the results against the worst teams were eliminated so that all teams were on the same basis but that’s another issue :).

Season Data is in again - the biggest thing to note is we have had quite a large drop in average value. This is likely in part to not having a couple of beast goalkeepers that we have almost always had in the past.
On the positive, our rating points and rank continues to go up despite us having a little dip value from our peak.

I have also come up with something new. A graph showing start of season (within first 4 weeks) rating and end of season rating. I have put in this seasons start rank but expect this to go up, so take it with a grain of salt.
Overall we are seeing a continual increase in best rating in the season, although it has plateaued a bit, which makes sense given we have a great core of users that isn't really increasing

I will try to remember to update this after our 4th game this season to see how it is looking for the season.

The chart title graph threw me for moment, as rank is dropping - but that's just initial perception that anything heading downwards is a negative, when that's what you want for ranking by numbers!! :D
No doubt, the aim is for the lines to crossover & keep heading in their projected directions.

For a bit of fun, here's the A and B teams for the season.

Just remember, this is just a guide. Some positions are heavily contested and I fully expect players not on these lists to represent the U21s this season. Form also plays a massive part on who is selected, as does our opposition.
If anyone would like information on a player or set of players in particular, especially to help with training vs selling from the NT perspective, feel free to sk-mail me

Haha yeah that one throws me every time. I should make it go the other way on a separate graph to be more intuitive, as well as actually naming that graph :D

Finally, of the A and B team listed a couple of interesting stats. The grain of salt here to consider is it only really looks at 1.5 age groups, so many trainees being worked on by Aus users/pulled from youth schools could be younger or older. So it's just for a bit of fun, doesn't actually say a lot.

Number of these players trained by Australian users

Loving the graphs!

Bugger, got caught out by the change in time, but luckily I had set a rough lineup a couple of days ago.

We managed to get the points with a 3-0 win which is good, but possibly could have been more if I was able to review the lineup after last nights cup matches around the world.

This season we have two strikers much better than the rest - one got injured in todays match meaning he will be out for our clash with the #1 team, and the other actually got an SI in last nights cup match, so played today SI.

We have also lost our #1 keeper, and all in all, have 5 injuries currently in our squad of 40.

But this is where all the amazing training of everyone here comes in to it, really helping our depth with the training of even the fringe players which I am very thankful of.

Yeah, being away you wouldn't have noticed that Europe entered daylight savings last Sunday, which brings games forward an hour for all of us.

We go out of daylight savings tomorrow, so for the eastern states at least (excluding QLD) games become a further hour earlier.

This is the period of time if you're a night owl where you can access the transfer market.

Yep, the actual real time differential of 10 hours between Oz Eastern seaboard & UK only take effect for about a month each year.....then it's an hour swing either way. 20 years or so & my parents still struggle to get it....bless them!! :D
