Asunto: National Team U21
Well deserved for sure.
A great player that really deserved more field time if form/injuries allowed

Next week we should be back to our regular scheduling where I can only select 2x21yos to play.
The two I pick will be based on what is missing in the U20s given form/injuries.

A very good string of results for the U20/21s. That’s great to see. Good result against Indonesia today

Very Interesting in the U21 World Cup
Azərbaycan U21, who was in our qualifying group, and who we out played twice (losing once and drawing the other), have made it through to the World Cup Final.
I can only assume they had a better squad this season than last season, but crazy given we outshot them 26-16 in our world cup qualifying group

I noticed earlier both Hungary and Azerbaijan made it out of the world cup groups. Crazy Azerbaijan has made the final.
Druid's cup update.
This week we play Scotland.
Both Scotland and Australia have beaten Schweiz and got a walkover against Czech Republic, so this will be a battle over who goes to the top of the group.
A draw should also see us win the group as we beat Schweiz 3:2 whereas Scotland won 1:0.
Scotland do have the advantage of being able to play 4 U21 players compared to our own 2.

Just did a big update on the database (it's normally fairly up to date, but sometimes a few players slip through the cracks)
If anyone has any players they want to know where they stand, or want an update on their current U21s, just let me know.

Well that was one crazy game to end the final group stage of the Druid's Cup.
We got incredibly UNLUCKY with an injury to our best U20 defender last night before the game, and then one of our 2 21yos, the only one in defence (Haddrill), being SENT OFF with a red card, which despite red card orders, still left us incredibly exposed at the back.
I too the risk of putting a 21yo striker in (Prince) hoping that he would take advantage of the few chances we may have, but it meant we were basically a team of 20yos trying to move the ball up to the front, one man down, which they found very difficult to do.
With being on the backfoot by so much, Scotland were able to control much of the ball and the shots, so we were very LUCKY to get away with an incredible keepers MOTM performance to keep a clean sheet. Prince then repaid the trust given by scoring in the 88th minute to put us 1-0 up, followed by Bourne scoring in the 90th minute for a 2-0 win.
Some good substitutions to give us fresh legs, and Scotland changing their tactic to a mirrored version, certainly helped us pull the bunny out of the hat after the bad luck we had with injuries and cards, and thankfully sokker did the rest. And whilst Scotland did have 13 shots to 5, 6 of those shots came from a midfielder on a sharp angle as their strikers were nicely marked most of the time, leaving him with no options to pass.

Good result considering. Bad timing for Langdon to go down during Druids. Luckily, he won't miss much training and can contribute again if we progress beyond next week.
At least it's only a little friendly competition in the off season
Ha, the sokker gods really want us to play Czech Republic. But do they want us to win? A tough draw for us.
That's a terrible draw for us. Basically lose any benefit we could have had at getting 1st in the group
So a Czech Republic double header then for both our NTs?
