Asunto: National Team U21

Thanks, although I'd say whilst I threw up an idea for the formation we ended up using, the execution (players used, positioning, shifting, movement) was all yours and that assisted the win.

So I feel in the end you were the one responsible for the win, as you had the final say into what ended up happening and were the one responsible for getting it to execute :).

As always though, it's a team effort and without it, we simply wouldn't be performing as we have been.

Suomi will be an interesting week. What I can say though is it's good we've (Australia) broken that duck of world cup performances. Though it isn't quite the same thing as the senior world cup, we've at least scored goals and have secured the first win at the highest possible level (for U21 NT's).

Think we've already exceeded expectation, I guess it's just a case of how far can we raise the bar :).

Do you know about any u20 mids for sale from Australia? Really good one's? Because I have 2 training places left and I'd like to train an Aussie, been doing it for...long time and now it's a bid weird..:P

Depends which skills you're training in the next 2 seasons.
2009-09-18 17:29:27
Passing + playmaking

I will be making central mids, best would be if the pace was already good/solid, and def was at least average/adequate

if griffiths had popped in tech this week, i might be tempted to sell, but if you want to train up the next willis and you're willing to wait... ;)
2009-09-18 17:32:12
We've got very similar training plans ;).
2009-09-18 17:33:57
and i stand to make massive amounts of $$ when i sell griffiths and he fits into every mid trainer's training plans :P

Give your price&skills&talent&sell date on my sk-mail and we will see :)

@cometer
:)

I'll let you make a tiny profit on Griffiths and get some money in this country first...
then I'll sell you Lawton in two seasons for a truckload :)
start saving...

Really nicely done guys... congrats.

Gotta laugh at the injury to Willis. I'm training him in passing from this week after getting booted from the cup and I was wearing the brown undies about him getting injured in the outfield and then he gets injured picking the ball up in the U21's. ha ha. Did he break a nail?!?! Now I'll be playing an average form, good keeper against Cometer in the league. If it was going to be a massacre before.....

Happened to my gk as well in this season ;-)

Surprised to see Barrett get a run, despite his form.
2009-09-20 02:38:55
you sure you're talking U21?
:p
2009-09-20 03:50:15
errr no?

Well the ride is over :(.

Bad game today but an otherwise awesome campaign. We had our chances against both Turkiye and Uruguay and just wasn't able to convert against Turkiye.

Back to reality for the rest of the season now I suppose :(.

Well, we did what we could with the personnel available.
Outplayed today, but generally a good campaign.

Thanks again to all the support from the brains-trust. Maybe with some of the guns pulled this week, we can come back with a stronger U21 squad next time.

While it's fun to be punching above our weight, it would be nice to be a serious challenge for these top teams.

Close but no cigar. Road ends here.
