Asunto: National Team U21

2009-12-13 15:14:04
Geremy, I expect the community to vote for me & Minkee because we are experienced, active managers who have done a good job with the U21 NT for the last 2 seasons. Not because we are Australian.

You will find that we welcome friendly managers from outside Australia.
We generally support managers who are active in our forum because that's a big part of what the NT is about.

Also, the U21 NT is run by 3-4 very experienced local managers, not 1. :)

Everyone is free to vote for whoever they want.

vivski para vivski
I didn't mean to suggest that the other candidates were not good managers.

this is mean? I see that you are a very proud nation and you want to be leaded by one of yours, but a user with only a few months experience in this game I think is a joke, even is australian.

I agree that Australia is a proud nation, and that today's people around the world are educated, but I also look at where my ancestors came from. Humans have been territorial for thousands, and even hundreds of thousands of years. Even wild animals are territorial, and wild animals never went to school to learn to be that way, nor did our ancestors.

Maybe it is a survival instinct, I am not completely sure how nature works my friend.

yes, well some of the comments on the forum & in my SK mail from foreign managers has shown them to be far from .worldly'.

Bear in mind that you're probably receiving SK-mails from very young people who don't have a lot of English. Not sure how good your Polish is, but mine is non-existent. ;)

I'm sure they're nice enough people. But they don't understand that one of our key criteria is being able to communicate with us. You can't just nominate and expect to be elected.

I've taken the language barrier into account....been in the UK & parts of Europe for the past 9 years...still here!!
It's more the ones alluding to the fact the current coaches aren't up to scratch & how they'd be far better...taken with a grain of salt.

That didn't quite go to plan, but that's life.

Now to World Cup Qualification... big game on Friday vs XTRage's Bosnia.

S21 - World Cup Qualifying

After a tame 1-1 draw last week in the first game of the U21 World Cup Qualifying, Australia scored an epic 2-1 win against France last night. The Australian young guns played brilliantly against the 7th ranked team in the world to score an unlikely victory. The victory is all the sweeter considering Australia played the majority of the match with only 10 players.

This is a match well worth watching. Even if you just fast forward through to the 90th minute winner... Huxley finds himself with the ball and going in 1-on1 with the keeper and the young striker who the manager asked to play injured slots in a clinical finish off the bar and the post with the last kick of the game! Wow. What a great win.

Sensational....& they had to rely on a pen to score (looked like a dive to me!!).

It must have been considering how high Dodd's tackling ability is!

Our back 5 is awesome. We have some quality defenders on the bench too. Teams are going to struggle to score against us :)

I haven't seen a French football performance like that since... at least a month ago. ;)

hmmm, deafly quiet in here. Not a good result against Andorra....will the draw be costly?!
2010-08-30 15:22:15
not if we beat both Hong Kong and Sverige who are having a shocking campaign for a side I was expecting to be challenging us for 2nd spot...
2010-08-30 15:53:12
Yes, but that's an "if"....& now relying on beating those rather than having the points in the bank. Looked like one of those games where we should have won but they somehow nick a draw.
2010-08-31 04:51:31
The Andorra game was horrible. I didn't get the tactic right and then key players (Leijer) played terrible. We had enough chances to win it, but the ME decided it wasn't going to be.
2010-08-31 09:39:54
It's always an "if". There's never anything set in concrete in this game even when you win ;).

Agree that relying on beating sides isn't exactly as convenient but we're not done yet, Sverige haven't won a game yet and we've beaten Hong Kong a few times recently.
