Our first World Cup game against Columbia is due to start at 11:30sk time. It will be a very tough game, but one we could potentially win. Fingers crossed....

Good start. For getting out of the group stage, whilst winning the first game really helps, the key is not to lose the first game. We picked up all 3 pts despite playing with 10 men for the majority of the game and being 2 defs down by the end of the game. Fortunately their winger wasn't as effective as I feared he might be after the early goal and we were able to create (and most importantly convert) our few chances into goals.

Great win mate . It was a very tough game with an early red card . Congratulations and good luck for the next matches :)

wow. What a game. It was really exciting :) It was really a great win considering we playing 2/3s the game with 10 men. Nothing worse than a decent winger in U21 especially with the lack of something in our defenders I won't mention in public here. I think the winger may have lacked stamina though as he faded badly in the 2nd half.

Lozanovski was epic at left back. Elrich made the crucial penalty save. Huxley nailed the one chance he got. Silvagni was very good in his first start for the national side. A great late pick by the manager ;) I think our superior stamina won us the game in the end.

Quite possibly, but I still think Huxleys effort for that 3rd and winning goal was something special and the number of scrambling saves Elrich made is something to be commended.

Lozanovski whilst not making a lot of tackles on their winger did the job that all the defenders chasing down wingers should do, forcing him to pass too early and therefore passing backwards into centre field, rather then forward into the box for a header at goal.

Agreed. Bacak got skinned down the line first half. Lozanovski jockeyed. Junior stuff!

Serbia and Croatia are better teams than us, but certainly not WAY better. Makes for an interesting world cup now.

Impressive!
I hope to go in your footsteps today ;)

What is up with the name change?!?

We'll see you in the final! ;)

Raided Colombia U21 thread. Stupid babelfish!

Aaaah! me perdi the good fight… speaking of the party I see that the trainer of Australia takes 3 gained parties to the thread but against weak rivals so can be a little trusting, it is necessary to give dry soup him and!

:D

Nice, free soup! ;)

Nothing special, just decided to change it. :)

One of the more entertaining NT games I've seen in a long time. Cards, injuries, goals, equalisers, more goals.

Great stuff!

I did think their wing was going to be our undoing, but the boys did enough in the end. Great result :)

Scott injured for 14 days :'( Just as he was about to pop in Defender again! 1 or 2 weeks of training! Suppose its time to switch to Pace!
2010-12-10 23:05:19
Sorry TM :(

it's 1 week lost maximum. Come Thursday, your injury should be +8. That means by the following Thursday Scott will be +1 (can still be trained). If Scott recovers quicker than 1 day per real day then you'll possibly be able to receive training next week as he'll be SI.

Its just lucky the he is so young! And not quite in my first team... :)
