Asunto: National Team U21

Huxley is carving up at present. Starting to think U21s just aren't good enough for him.

Let's hope Mason Giannakopoulos can do the same for us next season

At this rate given his latest skills that I received from his manager, he will come pretty close to being in the 1st XI of the Senior NT sometime during the time that he's 23, so I can back that he's too good for U21's (not that Australian users should care as it's better for us). We've got a few coming through the ranks now which is going to have some positive benefits to us in the seasons to come.

Elrich, Barnes, Huxley, Scott. A few more top quality young defenders could be useful though as most of our ageing players are in defense and strikeforce. We've got the strikeforce covered from what I see but defense could be an issue. We have a couple coming through in the likes of Wimbridge,Poutakidis and Mrdja but they are still a little away from replacing our top line defenders at present.

Some sweet talking to the frogs and pies in order then?
2011-02-12 05:26:10
Well it was more aimed at producing more youth players that can become defenders, regardless of where they're trained but yeah I suppose the 3 major defender trainers we have are vivski, TM and fantum in terms of past seasons anyway.

Elrich will be 4th best ranked keeper by the start of next season and probably 2nd best by middle of next season.... at the age of 22. crazy.

U21's with another massive under-dog, backs to the wall win. 10 players, 5 point rating start and a 4-2 win. :) :)

Huxley scored a 70... crazy.
2011-02-12 10:42:56
wow, sharpley's only been averaging 70s for the past 2-3 seasons, and this kid's already hit 70....

Yeah Huxleys skills are amazing as I've seen them in the NTDB and I have no doubt he'll get to triple superdivine with time to spare if he keeps receiving training.

the next maras it seems ;)

Maras, champion of Champions, and yet, this kid is looking better.

Maras 29, Huxley 21, Barnes 17. Looks like we have at least have one world class striker in our NT for a long time to come
2011-02-12 11:12:03
Much better than Maras. I'd like to see what Maras was again at the end of 21 because I'm quite confident Huxleys a long way ahead.

Scary thought is it's quite possible Huxley may have to resort to getting defender training towards the end of his trainable career as he could well be maxed out on the skills required for a striker..... Maybe that's a bit exaggerated but he'll definitely make triple divine and surpass Maras.

What I'm liking is the prospect of having 2 gun strikers together at the same time with L.Barnes (23) and Huxley (21) both extremely promising.

Yeah, both will hopefully get to triple divine if not triple SD, the question is, will Huxleys slight age advantage allow him to get to triple SD before Barnes?
2011-02-12 11:28:52
Good question. I think Huxley will get there first as he's really not that far off Barnes already and Barnes is about to turn 24.

Now up to a 2nd seed position. Approx equal gap between 32-31, and 32-33 so hopefully you continue to go up mate, as there is a nice group of teams from 26-31, all within close range, that you could also jump for bragging rights
2011-02-13 02:46:07
There is a nice group of youngsters coming through, so no reason why we can't stay top 30 for a few seasons.
