Asunto: National Team U21

there's probably about 2-3 I've missed in strikers alone so we'll soon find out if they've been receiving training or not. We've got 3 pretty good keepers though :s. Goodwin, Papaluca and Bowen if I can grab the stats off LCC. Most sides seem to be struggling with gk's and rich with strikers, whilst we're the other way.

Newcombe might be one for the future, but needed lots of pace when I sold him.

Flatt is one of those I mentioned who I dug up from the youth thread to check. Newcombe I've been receiving updates from regularly ;).

Good spread of teams.
Should land enough nice ranking points providing the gap between teams is not as huge as for the seniors.

I actually think in some cases the U21 gap is quite the same. Actually sides I'm expecting it to hit quite hard include New Zealand, South Africa, Wales and everyone else with less than 100 users, particularly those with under 50. We won't be ranked in the 2000's for U21's, I'd be estimating we'll be around 1800 by season end. Anything higher is a great achievement. We need the age machine to make Maras 21 again :(.

Should be a good match, as far as I know it's set. Going to feel strange watching your own country as a viewer rather than as the actual manager, I almost can't remember the last time I watched a match without knowing exactly who was doing what involving the Australian team :).

From what I've seen (I'm sure Tiger has more of an idea, at least I'd hope so :p) of what Malaysia's got at their disposal I'm pretty confident we should pick up the points, although our strikers aren't exactly the strongest asset in the team.

It would be nice to watch the match live, but alas, I gotta work, so good luck to Australia, and lets hope we demolish Malaysia...and a lot of the politics that has happened over the few seasons that Tigermaster has been active in the malaysian community

Hopefully I can do what Achmid has said and we will Demolish Malaysia. Indeed a lot of politics has happened over there especially when it was election time, and hopefully I can pay them back in the worst possible way for them with a first up Win for Australia.

It does also help that I do know most of the players in the U21 Malaysian side, considering that I have managed their NT for the last 2 seasons. It will also be interesting for both Morton and Yusri bin Raja Shoib playing at either end of the pitch to each other tonight.

Is it me or there's nothing on the U21 match page? How do you get access to the game?

Our strikers werent that bad on the day... nice result :)

Nice win to kickstart your U21 NT management. Offensively pretty solid, though at times defensively there were a few too many gaps which can be fixed for next time :).

Alagich obviously welcomed the open space, bagging 2 goals and 1 assist and he probably could have scored another 1-2 more. Ah at the sitter he missed.

Had 2 of my strikers playing today, both scored 2 goals :). Problem is I can't benefit for the extra training unless I drop a player :(.

Definitely a solid first outing.

One thing I wouldn't mind seeing tactically is the Stewart / Villafane line dropping back a bit when the ball is in the box. They would run forward and hit a wall (which is fine) but they should probably then retreat so that if the other teams defense clears it upfield (rather than booting it out) they are back in the play, rather than watching it sail over their heads and then having to give chase.
