Asunto: National Team U21

2009-01-24 00:15:37
Definitely a solid first outing.

One thing I wouldn't mind seeing tactically is the Stewart / Villafane line dropping back a bit when the ball is in the box. They would run forward and hit a wall (which is fine) but they should probably then retreat so that if the other teams defense clears it upfield (rather than booting it out) they are back in the play, rather than watching it sail over their heads and then having to give chase.

Does my player receive 33% more training for being sub on friday?
2009-01-25 07:09:28
nope. Only receives benefits for time played, just like with any other match.
2009-01-25 07:14:14
mmm... double disapointment then...
Back to training :)

you're no different to me. I had 2 players play 90min for the U21's and due to training difficulties I can't get the bonus training without sacrificing a player or having a player injured.

Well all is set for the match tomorrow night. I have a couple of players making a debut for the U21s coming off the bench. I have made up the tactic for the match and made a fair few tweaks. Personally it is not the type of tactic I would generally like to play, but hopefully it will do what it is designed to do and work a treat for us tomorrow night. The idea behind the tactic is more experimentation, especially this season as I am looking forward and looking for newer and better tactics all the time. Also I dont want to be too predictable!

It will be unlikely that I will be able to watch the match live tomorrow night, as I am heading back up to QLD for the weekend, and will not be taking my laptop with me. Basically meaning I wont actively be on sokker for the next few days (Fri-Sun) as i get back on Monday.

Hopefully the young boys can come through for us and we can gain some more of those ranking points of the Scots!

Basically I am not going to be giving away too much for the match, but I have tightened up the defence and stopped the holes that Malaysia was running through last week, and the DM will hopefully not be out of position if they get a counter attack.

A win here would be very nice... I'd be rather happy with a 3-1 final score.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you've come up with. Player for player we're pretty equal with Scotland. Alagich is ready after a solid training session this week :). Hopefully we can tighten up some of the sloppy mistakes against Malaysia and put in another solid performance.

ooooo interesting - lets hope you dont keep that winger waaay out on the side of the park picking his bum

I just installed that FireSokker thingymabob, and uploaded a few players... I like! Makes it so much easier than trying to work things out!

well done my lads imploded in 20 mins of first half. Congrats and good luck for the future.
2009-01-30 12:23:57
yeah I knew they would though, which is why i offered suggestions to Tigermaster about how to exploit it, even though I'm sure he would have noticed it himself. Here's my piece of advice, fix your defense setup and your striker positioning because if you don't you'll continue to get hammered by anyone who knows how to use a tactic editor :).

Had Alagich more striker, you may have lost that by a larger margin :).

In other news, congrats to Tigermaster for the solid result. A 5-1 win is very impressive and your tactic was extremely effective. 2 wins to start is a very impressive feat.

the defense was better than last week - tho still not correct i do admit. If that was my strikers out of position getting 10 goals hmmmmm i thought they did ok

With your strikers you could be getting double the shots if you played them more aggressively. Your defense is the bigger concern, you have too many huge holes. The gaps were big enough for our midfielders to pump balls past it for our strikers to run onto and stronger NT's will definitely pounch on those holes.
