Todos
Well it's now up and running like I said I'd try to start up. Over the next few hours I'll be posting up information about the candidates to assist you in choosing your player, so please don't vote until that's been done.
Here's how I intend it to work. You vote for who you think is the most deserving player for the NT to earn a spot in the hall of fame. The criteria you decide is up to you, it could be longest serving player, best win percentage or whatever else you decide. You may vote for your own player if you seriously believe they are the most deserving but I'd like to try and minimize direct voting just because it's from your club. End of the day you gain nothing from this by voting in this fashion, other than the pride of having the player from your club.
To keep it a secret as to who gets votes and to also control for the case foreigners randomly vote without knowledge you will need to also skmail me 3 choices, in 3,2,1 format where 3 points goes to your most preferred and 1 point is your least preferred. These will then be combined with everyone else's to decide who gets inducted. So the poll may say one thing but it may not guarantee the player will be inducted, just a nice way to see where most view players.
All Australian users are eligible to vote, along with anyone that's ever managed the Australian NT or been associated with the NT and the Australian forum for a long period of time.
This will probably last for a few weeks, so you'll have plenty of time to vote and I won't be rushing this through as the more votes I get the better the representation of who deserves to be included is.
Keep in mind some of these players were in a a weak NT back when we started so that should be taken into account when deciding your vote as their skills and the team around them wasn't the same as some of the later players in this list.
Player write ups will follow shortly, just wanted to get this thread out.

NT manager comment: A highly valuable player, starting from the initial season of normal friendlies and running right through until we played our 2nd world cup. One of the all time greats for the country and with a better side could have buried a lot more goals then he did. In saying that though he still is the only Australian player to score against the Polish NT and is considered as one of the legends of the NT.

NT manager comment: A quiet achiever who has managed to play a part of every campaign Australia has been involved in right from day one. Sure the assists/game ratio isn't the best but there is no doubt Baveas has chipped in on countless occasions in setting up the goal giving the assist off to somebody else, or having the striker squander the chance. Perhaps one of the better moments to illustrate his capabilities was when he slotted home a goal against Hellas to secure the game and the 3 points for qualification when we were looking quite shaky. Another worthy contender for the hall of fame.

NT manager comment: Didn't take Broxton long to work his way into the starting side. Initially came into the side as a defender back in 2005 but has recently seen more work in the midfield as our defense line has become stronger. As one of the foundation players, Broxton has arguably the best qualities of any player in terms of roundedness and that results in him being able to play in a number of positions successfully.

NT manager comment: Don't let the relatively few NT caps fool you into underestimating the contributions made by Faria to the NT. He came in for a short burst and helped bolster the extremely weak and fragile defense. Along with the others that came in around the same time this brought stability at the back and 33% of all his matches played resulted in keeping a clean sheet and this includes the WCQ matches. Gradually was pushed out other up and coming defenders but considering the time he played, was a great asset to the team and was unfortunate not to have played in a world cup.

The only problem was whilst Garland seemed to defend reasonably well, his footskills in trapping the ball was well under par given his skills. Despite that, when in form Garland often proved to be rock solid at the back and this was especially true in the world cup that he played in.

NT manager comment: A legend in his own right, just like Amien, Newhill was the heart and sole of the strike force. More often then not, if he scored we'd have a chance of winning, if he didn't score we lost. Quite a frustrating player to watch in action, always found new ways of squandering chances, yet was able to create vast amounts of strong chances. As with the majority of our strikeforce at the time, Newhill had to do everything virtually on his own as the midfield wasn't really strong enough to put balls on a platter. The fact that Newhill was for a long time our highest striker and the player who scored most of our goals in the early seasons is the reason why he deserves the chance to be inducted.

NT manager comment: Almost always overlooked to other great midfielders such as Baveas,Zdrilic and Veart, North had a successful NT career and was our biggest source of assists in qualifying for quite some time. Almost generated an assist every qualification game he played with 11/16. Used as a high winger, North was able to get into space and then set up a cross to supply one of our strikers a chance to score. He was able to knock up 37 caps before his career came to an end. Was one of the many great players from Australia's midfield supply at the time in The Black Flashes.

NT manager comment: A fellow clubmember of Hudap, Ozbey played much the same role. Was a foundation player who didn't chip in with many assists (a lot of midfielders didn't due to the M.E at the time and the relative strength of our strikers against opposition defenders, a technique issue). In saying that though he played a number of games at the top level and was able to compete in a successful qualification run and a reasonable world cup campaign. Anybody playing 20+ games during the early seasons where chances of getting booted out were quite high, deserves to acknowledged as a class player for the time.

NT manager comment: Always an interesting player, never knew whether he'd be used as a striker or as a midfielder. Was a bit of an unusual case at the time in that he could virtually play both positions effectively and it came down to a case of manager choice. He was able to bag a hattrick of goals in one game whilst also getting multiple assists in another and was able to contribute to the NT both with goals and assists. One of the earlier players of our NT, Parkinson is acknowledged for his contributions made by being nominated.

NT manager comment: One of our best defenders of the past eras, came in with Faria to help improve the defense. He did more than just that, he played for a significant amount of time in central defense and played in all the world cups we qualified for. 11/24 times in WCQ's he was involved with keeping a clean sheet at the back. His contributions led him to play 59 caps for Australia of which 30 were either WCQ's or WC. Definitely was the beginning of a new age for Australian defenders and thoroughly deserves his spot as one of Australia's greatest players.

NT manager comment: Veart was for a long while one of our strongest defenders. The amount of caps he received indicates just how useful he was to the NT. In a similar role as Baveas he didn't generate many assists directly but often played a part in the build up to goals and proved quite reasonable defensively as well. Played in almost every qualification season to date except the latest one due to others overtaking him. Veart is one of those players who you could basically bank all your money on being in the starting side unless injured in the earlier seasons and he rarely disappointed. Will be sorely missed for the contributions he made to our NT over the seasons and with 74 caps puts him as #4 on the all time games list, behind Ando,Broxton and Baveas.

NT manager comment: The defensive midfielder we had been seeking for some time, although he started out as a defender. The shift to defensive midfield allowed us to cut out attacks before they got to the defense line and then followed up with his passing skills to offload to another midfielder and start the next attack. Nobody other than Broxton was like him and with Widera's presence laid down the foundations for the continued improvement in the Australian defense. His career ended prematurely when his club side gave the game away and he went for many seasons without training and match practice. I have no doubts he'd still be in the NT, had he been sold before his manager gave the game away. A tragic ending for an exceptional player.

Well that's it, I guess it's upto everyone to throw in their votes now. Take your time, you'll have a few weeks to get the votes in. There's a large number of potential candidates, perhaps all worthy of being inducted for different reasons and the stats won't necessarily give them all justice.
Anybody wants anything added let me know sooner rather than later and I'll consider editing it in, although I think most of the important stuff is included.

I've got quite amused when I sam that Veart got only 9 assists. But on the other hand, when we start thinking about those days...all actions were going through the wing/wings. Good old days....thanks again for this topic cometer!

Just a reminder to send in via skmail your 3,2,1 votes for those that may have voted on the poll but haven't gone further. Have received a number of votes so far, would like some more still. Plenty of time left yet though.
Another reminder, not too long left before I count up the votes and announce the inductees.
Just a reminder, last chance to vote, I'll close this and tally up the votes on Tuesday, so Monday is the last chance to submit your 3,2,1's.
I might be in touch with a few of you who have been around a while and are fairly active if you haven't voted yet :p.

Pushing this to the top for those who may want to consider voting for who they'd like to see in the HOF :).
The NT coach of a country who'll beat Australia twice during the WC quals :P
Keep dreaming! :P
I mean, if you couldnt beat Malaysia under my charge... and I beat Australia with Malaysia (Competition match but who's keeping records) What hope can you have? :P

Well the votes are in and tallied thus completing the first installment. How would you like to have the winners presented? Basic text, getting straight to the point so saying players inducted are A and B, or a more formal build up where I talk it up a bit before announcing them one at a time?
Either way, I'm strongly contemplating putting the actual Hall Of Fame List in the Association Forum to keep it on the first page without continually bumping it.
Opinions? Other suggestions?

Sounds like a good idea to pseudo-sticky it in the NT forum.
No preference on the format, up to you.
