Asunto: S15 - The Australia Cup

Minkee [del] para Todos
I don't think we can get excited by the draw just yet... a fairly plain one for everyone.
Difficult to predict the winner of this competition too much in advance as it stays fairly open (to the AL generally) until the last game.

Nevertheless don't count on me to put my hand up! I'll be happy with Rd3 as staying up in II is my objective this season.

ye i got to focus on staying up also.. well harder than the first time anyway:P although should get an easy win first up

Pretty uneventful first round although a scary stat came up from the 1st 50 games of the draw.... only two goals from the home sides!!!

Hehe, funny game to watch with 10 defender trainees on the pitch. Hilarious to see them fumble around in front of goal and pummel the posts. Like a game of pinball. And the best player on the park didn't touch the ball once. :P

Most importantly... no injuries. :)

All the best in Rd2.

lol @ uber in the lower half of the seedings :P

he'll get more cash then you now from matches ;). Don't think it's a bad thing unless he draws an A League side next round.

That is if he win that game... i don't think it will be straightforward as SAA is well rounded in comparison. That game and CNF this sunday is going to be interesting for him for sure...
go Uber :)

Does being on the bottom means the winner plays The Black Flashes?

The way div III.12 is, my whole season will pretty much be determined by the end of week 1. How silly is that? I think its going to be another season of training and stadium building.

SAA have better players than me. I'm going to try to put a strong enough team to give some super tactics a chance to beat him :)

No but it means you've got a good chance of taking on an A League team or a strong div II side. Anything on the left hand side of the draw (ie the home team stays on the lower half (left hand side) of the draw unless a lot of upsets happen, meaning eventually you're going to run into a difficult team. Whilst you're on the right of the draw you avoid playing the best teams until later in the cup.

Theoretically you could play TBF next week if you won this next round as the bottom half (left hand side) of the draw is randomly assigned to a seeded top half side.

The way div III.12 is, my whole season will pretty much be determined by the end of week 1. How silly is that?

Hardly, although it will have a significant contribution to it. You've got the return leg in week 14. 14 weeks is a long time and it's very easy to slip up points.

I've put a lot of time into different tactics for the next two matches, so if nothing else I will learn about what works and what doesn't
2009-01-17 12:43:24
that's quite true. Always a good experience regardless of the result.
2009-01-17 13:16:28
most likely what doesnt sadly...
your in the same position I was the last 2 seasons in III.12... enjoy :)
2009-01-17 17:02:05
i agree with cometer. i won my div III league on the last game of the season, and went on to promote. wasn't really expecting it, but sometimes life can give you some unexpected bonuses :)

Through. And injury free.
2009-01-21 13:05:13
Through. I hate having strikers set to MID. Lost about 10 goal chances out there with all their stupid backpassing or trying to play hot potato when they only had the gk to beat :(.

3-0 win in the end.

I don't know how to present this one...

I forgot to pick my subs for the game except for the GK.
So I have my reserve GK playing the game to give him some training and my 1st XI GK is on the bench with no one else around him.
55' in the game, one of my striker gets injured, at that point I thought I couldnt remember who was the sub striker...
"hang on who's coming on the pitch... Balabanel!!!... WTF... argggg!!!" my 1st XI GK is going to play striker!?!
The game goes on and I'm like "oh man dont get injured dont get injured I so need you for sunday".
The thruth is his pace came in quite handy on many occasions but his shooting was absolutely terrible...
well that was until the 90' when HE BLOODY SCORED!!!

I'll call it the lucky escape... one to remember! :)
