Subpage under development, new version coming soon!
Asunto: S15 - The Australia Cup
I don't know how to present this one...
I forgot to pick my subs for the game except for the GK.
So I have my reserve GK playing the game to give him some training and my 1st XI GK is on the bench with no one else around him.
55' in the game, one of my striker gets injured, at that point I thought I couldnt remember who was the sub striker...
"hang on who's coming on the pitch... Balabanel!!!... WTF... argggg!!!" my 1st XI GK is going to play striker!?!
The game goes on and I'm like "oh man dont get injured dont get injured I so need you for sunday".
The thruth is his pace came in quite handy on many occasions but his shooting was absolutely terrible...
well that was until the 90' when HE BLOODY SCORED!!!
I'll call it the lucky escape... one to remember! :)

hehe that's funny but it probably wouldn't have been if you'd gone down or got loads of injuries.
First half -
1-0 up after 16 & it's a case of "ok, going to plan"....4 mins later a straight red to one of my 4 first teamers on the pitch. That's fine as we get to half time 1-0 up & no great threat...aside from losing a valuable player for the league fixture.
Second half -
51 mins in & we foul in the box (that must be painful) - penalty & they score. "Squaeky bum" time now!! But wait, 52 mins in & my main striker for this game scores....53 mins in & he scores again!!
It's now 3-1 & what was all the fuss about....2 sensational goals at that. No change from there & once they lose a player to a 2nd yellow on 85 mins it's game over.

Playing with a mixed squad a goal to the opposition put them up. Penalty towards the end of the half squares it up, so thinking all's good. A second goal in the 48th min and looks like the team will go on with it but no 2-1 scoreline. Well next round who's up.
aaahhh, looks like i'll be out in the 3rd round again after drawing losers
don't want to put the mockers on you Minkee but if you win this round, is that the first time you've made it to round 4?
The Cup has never been an objective for several reasons:
- I never said it was (so don't put word in my mouth again :p ).
- Training outweight a good run in the Cup in my case still.
- The draw favours the big teams and I'm not in that category yet. Plus as long as the draw is not totally random I won't consider making an effort as I consider it as a flaw in this game. Winners still deserve the honours though as they've gone 8 games unbeaten on the trot.
- I'm happy with reaching Rd3 each year.
Yes, If I win it will be the first time I reach Rd4...

Initial seeding was done by ranking points at the start of season, the best 50% are placed on the right and the other 50% are randomly assigned to each one of those teams. All winners are then again compared against this seeding and the top 50% of those stay on the right in order of their seed and the bottom 50% are randomly assigned again. That's pretty much how it works. Once you're in the bottom 50% you can be assigned any of the top 50%.
no the draw isnt random.
Sokker takes the ranking into account for the draw at the start of the comp.
Half of the draw is random and the other half is made of the strongest team divided by 2. So if there's 128 teams for exemple, 64 of them will be ranked according to the ranking at the start of the comp and the 64 others will be randomly drawn to match.
I was ranked 32 at the start of the comp so it means I cant play a team ranked 1 to 31 before Rd5... hardly fair on lower ranked teams is it?

I did well to make it to Round 3...but looks like my run is about to hit a brick wall called Cumlionibus....oh well...good while it lasted....and atleast it helped improve my fans mood...after the big drop from the qual match. :)
I'd much prefer a totally random draw, even if I got drawn up against an A League side first up. I just reckon it would be more exciting and would give a lower ranked side the chance of progressing far and not necessarily facing a top side every week.
I totally agree with you.
Tough if we asked for a random draw it would probably means all the other nations would have the same I guess... although it "seems" they stop adding newbie in III in England.
Is it worth making a poll to see what the aussies users wants and see if we can get the exception?
