Asunto: S15 - The Australia Cup

2009-02-18 13:11:21
i'll be honest here, my activity in sokker has been really down this season. don't see myself buying plus again any time soon.

looked at the report and noticed my starting central defender got injured and replaced with my backup keeper with GK orders after 27 mins.

i need to buy alot of new players, my team is barely a-league level anymore and i'm training about 2 playes atm because i don't have the time to be up late to buy decent players. i'm sure i'll get back into it properly at some stage.

Back to reality for me....congrats Terje.

Congrats to those 4 in the semis. I predicted 3 of them correctly enough and the 4th can probably consider themselves hard done by.

Haven't seen the game, but seems like it was a deserved win.

Thanks fantum, see you in the final next season? :)

LOL....you'll see me alright. You on the pitch....me in the stands!! Patience for me as I try to build my defence with training....& slowly upgrade elsewhere, with an aim to one day produce some NT defenders?
& once back with a pc at home I can look at some tactical changes....a lot to be learnt from yourself & Tong over the last week or two.
Good luck in the semi final....uphold the honour of Div II.01.

Thanks! :)

Will be interesting to see what you can cook up when you get some more time in front of the pc :)

Not the draw I wanted. Roar would be missing two great defenders, instead I get a full strenght Tribe knocking on my door.

Now how did I bribe does referees again .......?

The complete opposite for me I'm afraid. I actually wanted you to draw Tribe as I think you're the only side out of the two that naph may actually have to rest a few players for that game if they want to keep the training and that could only benefit myself ahead of this weekend's match.

Now how did I bribe does referees again .......?

Perhaps bribe me, since I get first crack at Tribe this weekend :p.

Well since I failed to win the cup and I'm not in it, next best thing is to try to take advantage of not being in the cup isn't it ;).

Would always prefer to take Tribes 1st XI but when chance comes for a title challenge anything that tips the scales my direction I won't say no to.

Well I'm flabbergasted...Well done Terjeh on making it to the final and bad luck to naph for going out in penalties.

And for TG to win after not logging in for over two weeks is just incredible too.

Good luck in the final

The semi-finals seems to be my bogey round (not a hugely bad problem to have admittedly)

I think we did everything right except for our finishing on the day. Created enough quality chances. Our setup for shots on goal in the 59th and 79th minutes was some of the best play we've ever had but we just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. I'd love to say I was surprised that Hirons and Croxall couldn't even convert one penalty between them, but that's the sort of game they were having.

Congrats TerjeH, good luck in the final.

Edit: Oh and how could I forget? what a blinder Jestratijević had! Came from nowhere and had my keeper flat footed staring straight ahead when the ball whistled past him.

That's the kind of match that potentially sees a monitor in many pieces. Thought Tribe pretty well controlled the game, had the best share of chances and failed to convert whilst SLTFATF slammed one of their only shots straight into the back of the net from long range and then proceeded to win in the penalty shootout.

In saying that credit to TerjeH for the win and the players really shone through when called upon. Hopefully you take out the title as I think that semi was worthy of being one.

Haven't seen the game, but as far as I can see luck was on my side (now bankrupt due to all the bribing of the game officials).

I've gotta say that Tribe seems to be the better side and this was the one out of ten that gave a win to my side.
2009-02-25 13:23:33
Yep and you get a final against Tollygunge to get revenge for losing the qualification match last season ;).

Was an interesting game. The tactics were pretty much identical. Tribe controlled much of the play and could have scored twice more when Rudnicki snuck in behind the wingback a couple of times. After PRT's goal against the run of play, either side could have snatched the winner and both teams seemed to tire in extra time.

Unlucky for Tribe, probably deserved to proceed, but PRT did enough to stay in the contest. I just hope that's not how the A-League grand final goes on Saturday.

Good luck to both finalists.
