Asunto: »S16 - State Cup III - Round Robin

2009-03-25 22:48:50
After recent sales my squad is a little smaller than usual (meaning I had to play more 1st teamers to maximize training). I also tried a relatively untried tactic. Almost everything clicked for my guys and Canberra's lineup wasn't strong at all, which all added up to a very one-sided encounter.

1 goal from 27 shots?!
I wonder why I have two formidable striker trainees eh...
2009-04-01 14:13:28
haha yeah not really the best return there.

Picked up another win, move to the top of the group after Snappa dropped the game against Dragons.

Made hard work of scoring by not being more careful with striker placements. Left them marked most of the time and consequently I only created 13 shots at goal. Still won 3-0 though so no harm done.

Cheers Achmid, I knew there were reasons I wasn't using that tactic in anger just yet.

a point! woo hoo!

Post Games Trash Talk
GrA: Krayzee with his important win over The "not" Invicibles has secured top spot unless catastrophe strikes on Wednesday when they play bottom of table Richmond. TMP will play the Kiwis for 2nd spot and vice versa.
GrB:The Comets took the lead since Snappa lost their grudge match agaisnt the Dragons (2-1). A lot to play for in the last round to settle the top6 of that group.
GrC:It was good being the traveling teams last Wednesday in GrC, they found little opposition and ensure that their fans made the most of it (beers, chicks…). Ronald Kelly of Brisbane sunk the TAB's weekly budget by claiming an unprecedented $2m guessing an almost unpredictable 5-1 win for Achmid... (what happen there guys? that's not like you?!)
GrD:No change in the standings and unlikely to see any next week too considering the situation with points and GD. A steady group with steady teams enjoying counting counting the drops of rain through the window… RG need to beat Cumlionibus by 14 goals to top the group next week.

LOL! That was unexpected.
2009-04-08 12:16:21
what's up?
2009-04-08 15:12:40
The Invincibles showed up with an invisible keeper... and turned what should have been an arm wrestle into more like a darts competition. :P

Quick reminder not to organise a friendly outside the SC next week. The draw for the next round will be released in the next couple of days.

For the teams feeling the pain of mismatches in the group stage, the next two weeks are an opportunity to show your stuff against teams of similar quality. A proper battle of the tactics for those not embroiled in end of season league showdowns.

All ACT final for State Cup #3. Was quite fortunate to score a goal tonight, when Alagich crosses successfully you know luck is on your side. We'll see how we go next week as to whether I can grab any title for the season.

Always good to see an all ACT final =) Will make it 2 from 3 for the smallest state in Oz! And without the frogs in there too! shows the strength of ACT
2009-04-15 14:01:24
well im the lone ranger for TAS!
2009-04-15 14:30:17
lol what a dramatic finish to my game! 89th minute, foul that caused a 23 day injury to my backup defender, player gets sent off with second yellow, from the resulting freekick ball to the striker, who hits it in off the bar for the winner!
2009-04-15 22:16:05
That was a pure robbery in all aspects... that's the 1st one this season but I don't mind it happening during a friendly obviously!

The team owned the game and report and yet it translated into a defeat... go figure :)
