Things are getting super close at the top. The automatic promotion spots are seperated by a mere 8 goals and 2-4 have all scored 65 goals. Jatt's team is only 8 goals off pushing into the top 4. After that the goal differences are a way behing and those teams will be hoping for a couple of the top 5 teams to lose in the big 2nd round matches around round 14. Exciting times!

Going in the other direction, there is a big race still to run. 10th ranked losers only have 6 points so there are a lot of teams looking back over their shoulders.

There no way that's the Rd9 update...

You guys at the top wouldnt have 24pts after 9 games??!

It's gonna be a last game of season playoff between DVS Strikers and Elman FC to see who gets the qualification game in my division. Witha draw in the first game of the season, both have won every game since without missing a beat. DVS have 83 goals for with 3 against and Elman have 80 for with 4 against. The remaining games DVS play 3rd, 4th and 5th, Elman play 4th, 5th and 6th. The last game between the two teams being played at Striker Arena to decide the qualifier. The prospect of a draw would see the higher team drop further down the Promotion Board.

The promotion system does disadvantage teams that are in strong leagues. Its too bad you can play promotion games against other teams in Div III like in the English Championship. I guess there isn't enough time in the season. You might be able to work something out if you used some friendly dates.

Yeah that's one way of looking at it.

Yet there are still positives to be had with being in a stronger league. Ignoring any activity the main positives of being in strong league.

1) More competitive games such that by the time you promote you're better tactically and you're much better equipped to survive the new league.

2) Generally, if you win a qualifier you won't get shoved into the strongest league in the above division like the automatic qualifiers do, so they could find themselves jumping up and down divisions, not growing in supporter numbers, fan mood usually low for large parts of the season etc.

Most of the "competitive" leagues in div III only have 2 strong teams meaning you get a competitive game in week 1 and one in week 14. Div II would be a thousand times more rewarding *crosses fingers*

You can always play your 2nds against the weaker teams in the league games and your 1sts in the State Cup. That will give you a tactical challenge in both games each week.

yeah div III would become a lot stronger if we could get another 100-150 active users more which is a difficult outcome. Div II became strong as those active in div III filled up the weaker spots. Then they established and as they did so sponsorship increased causing the wedge we do now between II and III in terms of average sponsorship.
