My 20yo aussie defender should reach magical def' & outstanding pace by season end....throwing in some tech training also which should mean solid at least.

That's my sorry lot.

i have a striker with solid shooting ; oh yeh
2009-09-16 04:10:52
ha ha. Don't worry mate. I've been playing for a while now and I've still only got VG strikers and defenders. It just means you have to work a bit harder on the tactical side of things.

That is why it is a good idea to train pace at the beginning. Low pace players are cheap, you can train 22 players at once and defending is a combination of pace + defending so you can cover your crappy defense skills with speed and your strikers can get more one on one chances helping overcome their solid rating to get you goals.

Things going to plan so far in II.04.

6 games played, 6 shots conceded. 31:0 goal count.

Yet I guess your supporter mood is still down at either furious or losing hope?
2009-10-04 09:13:16
It's struggling along.

2009-10-04 09:20:00
well at least it's going somewhere in the right direction :).

I'm one level ahead of that atm, although I must be close to satisfied after the result today. Certainly it is a struggle to get it back up but I could have made it easier by not playing 2nd's against teams I should be thumping by double digits ;).

My graph is somewhat incorrect though unless I'm really close to satisfied.

Doesn't really make a difference. You're still in the Cup, that's why you're ahead. Where-as I lost to the underrated Tong. Your damage will be limited by bowing out to a higher-ranked team (unless you take the silverware).

Yeah being in the cup is the main advantage. Though winning league games by single goals drops my supporter mood each time. Though really the only ones I've gained from the cup have been the 7-1 win over Chelsea and the 4-1 win over Tong on Wednesday. I actually lost levels in the league against Steel Fury and hornsby due to focussing on staying in the cup as long as possible.

is mine atm.

What it does show though is that the system isn't really as bad as a lot are making out. Difficult, but not impossible.

Yes, difficult, a challenge, but ... given my team is undefeated and slotting away lots of goals, I think my supporters should be happy. Maybe they're still angry that I lost to Tong. Maybe they're still angry about demoting to div 2.

If div 2 had 32 teams of roughly equal strength, it wouldn't be a problem. So I'm less inclined to blame the system and more inclined to blame the fairly poor depth of the Aussie SK community.

When we get 100 active players, I'm sure this will be less of a problem.

A number of your results have only been 3-0, 4-0 though. Against those kind of sides you need to be looking for 10+. The only ones you could probably beat normally are Taigum Terriers and Real Galah. The rest all require spanking.

I went up against MM and probably a little from the win against Tong tonight. SG I was about par and GG I probably went up a tiny bit but not much.

My biggest ups have been from defeating Chelsea in the cup. I've found 6-0's to be so far sufficient but against sides like Steel Fury and hornsby I probably need closer to 10-0 to balance the mood, which I'd probably be able to do with my 1st's.

What would be nice though is a little message somewhere in the match page about the expectation ie the margin you need to maintain the same level of mood. So for example your fans expect a small win, your fans expect a solid win, your fans expect a massive win, your fans will be satisfied by a narrow loss, your fans will be satisfied with a decent loss etc.

At least that might help to identify whether we need to be looking to put our tactics a little more offensive or not.

I mean that's why I've been interested in both your supporter mood as well as mine, to gauge more understanding of the system. Little is known about how it operates and I think that's what causes more annoyance from people as they think it's one thing when it's probably not. I don't believe it's ranking points as some say or average marks, but I do believe it's something with a positive correlation with ranking points making it appear like they're the deciding factor.

All we do know is that it's based mostly around past results, but that could be a number of things.

vivski para vivski
Now 8 games played, 6 shots conceded. 50:0 goal count.

And don't look now, but my strikers seem to be finding some form! Both up to outstanding after countless weeks at the very bottom.

I'll need them to be on song for the run home.
