Bears give me 35 days of injuries to send me into A-League with.

Ta.
2020-08-23 14:13:20
Well that's annoying. If it is any consolation, the first A-League match is still 21days away and the longest injury out of the two is 20days

Doubt I'll be going anywhere as low 30 ratings probably not enough to win & only striker (who is 39yo) injured today....+ not sure I want to promote right now.

Will look for another old striker in time for next week, & for next season, as I try to win div 2. :)

OK everyone, for the first good thing these new DEVs have done, it looks like we can now organise a friendly for this Sunday (if you don't have a Quali match), and also for the following Sunday.

This means you can get training as normal by organising two friendlies this week, and one for the next week on the normal Sunday off

So I didn't need to sell my first XL & play dead for a qualifier? :)

I'll need to build a new tactic if I am to win.
Conundrum is.....do I delve into the TM for some aged players & see if I can promote before spending my small wad.
Or, take the pain & stay in div 2 for another season.

It is a conundrum. I'll leave that up to you, but I'd say anything you spent on oldies you would make back (I think).

I could also be wrong

I'm divided as to whether this is a good thing or not. I think it depends on a few factors like where you are in regards to your training cycle. Those who already have stamina vs those who do not.

As it now stands, I feel the usual slot for stamina training now has morphed into not training stamina at all (ever) as the cost of training stamina over any other skill is now higher then under the current situation where you don't really have any other real option (unless you train pace).

I think not that you'll notice a huge change immediately, but an extra 2 friendlies allows additional money into the game and with no money sinks it means player prices go up.

Also I think again, not hugely evident immediately but an extra 2 weeks of training per season will make higher skilled players then what we already have. That's loosely +1 to a skill every 2 seasons, to potentially 3 or 4 gains over training period.

On the flip side, for those not needing the stamina it works well, plus you now get additional games and extra income.

Overall, don't particularly like it, would have preferred a middle ground of have a friendly whilst others have their qualifier, but the following Sunday should stay as is. Think that would have solved the issue better.

Stamina should just slowly increase through general training. Every player who plays game regularly will then end up with playable stamina, it will just take some players longer than others.

I agree with your general comments though, it makes it very hard to justify training stamina
2020-08-28 23:19:45
That is a very interesting comment, although I haven't used this block to train stamina for a long time.

This two weeks have always been pace training weeks for me, because normally I train skills that only have 10 slots, so I can train all of them in pace for two weeks, and then go back to their regular skill when the season is back to normal.

I then train stamina the week(s) in the cup that I feel I can't get away with playing my 2nds in the cup, thus allowing me to play 1sts.

So whilst I like this decision, it seems because I did auto stamina these two weeks, I was probably getting an extra week or two of good training in. Per season.

As far as the snowball effect you talk about, the whole competition is getting changed so this is likely to be a one off anyway, which is why it's a weird thing for them to have done, so you probably won't see a "stamina week" anyway in the future.

So have they (Devs) just decided to implement it now, rather than forewarn all, & leave it to kick in next season?

Or, a decision made & mentioned in their beloved forum - which I've reminded them before, we don't all frequent.

Front page news with updates is something that is not only missing with SK but leaves a lot to be desired (that's a general comment)....or is that something I've been daft with missing as well. :)

Nope, just put in their little forum. Will probably come up on the "front page news" at some point, but mine often jumps between the updates, so don't actually see them there anyway.

As far as starting next season, from the small bit I read, the new 12 team league, and twice weekly league matches (without any sort of international or regional competition) will not be starting next season, but they will be cutting back on league numbers, so it's likely our 3rd div will drop to 4 or 8 leagues, rather than the current 16 leagues

Incorrect. It was in the news and has been for a day or two. That being said, it's still very late notice, so the idea probably has been known about in the dev forum a while.

I can understand why one mightn't see that as it seems the news page before you log in doesn't display everything and seems to be very random at what it does display. Once you're logged in though, the news page shows all of it. Not sure I know how to navigate to the news tab from a mobile device though but desktop it's basically a drop down menu off the house icon.

News page? What news page? My home page (i.e. first page I see when I log in) does not show any type of news. It's only when actively seeking to go to the forum that I would see any such 'news' or other topics of interest.
Can't really think of any other online games I play that don't have some sort of news or announcement summary on the homepage (or front page).

Incorrect. It was in the news and has been for a day or two

Actually correct. Based on when my original post was about it (on the 28th) that was the exact day it came out on the news, and in the Development forum. Fantum was wondering if this was pre-warned somewhere prior to being implemented or it just being implemented.

No pre-warning this was going to occur, just a couple of days notice to have a small amount of time to arrange a friendly.

I will have to check out this drop down menu for news, as I missed it's location once logged in too
