Asunto: S17 - Australia Cup

It makes very little difference to me considering how unimportant the cup is in my season...
At this point I'll exchange a good run with a top3 in my league anytime :p

I'm dissappointed I didn't get to play Minkee! Only just missed out.

Now I've upgraded my stadium forgetting about the cup games to be played. A couple of hundred thousand dollar mistake. doh.

That can be arranged after our respective cup run...

42 to shots to 0 (new team that was taken over this week)

12 goals. About 12 absolutely criminal misses. Highlight of the day would be reserve defender/striker Cain winning a sprint against a slow-mo keeper then dribbling the defender to be on the goal line and then cannoning the ball into the corner post.

8 to 0 win. Reasonably satisfied considering the midfield I put out for the 2nd week running :). Don't know how long I'm going to keep pulling new teams or new teams gone bot. I suspect that run is finished. Anyway through to round 4.

Didn't gain any supporter mood though, so we'll see I'm expecting around a 40-50k drop on Saturday. At least I didn't lose an actual level :).

Appears Minkee made it to round 4 for the first time ever too.

Yes, yes, yes! Through to 4th round the first time ever. I thought I was going to do it easy and it turned into a real slog. Under the pump the whole first half to go down 2-0 and ran over the top of them in the second half to equalise to 2-2. Missed an easy winner right at the death so it went to penalties. My awesome home grown goal keeper was never going to lose us the match against a bunch of no hopers like RP. :)

Well done, uber. RP's not an easy opponent.

Am I right to think I'll play TBF next week?

not necessarily.

Basically the top half are seeded in order of initial ranking points from end of last season.

The bottom half are randomly assigned to a team from the top half.

The process repeats each week :).

How freaky to delete a double post to find out it got edited in the mean time!

lol i edited my post twice.

first was having a dig at the double post by saying no to both posts.
then as soon as I posted that, uber had edited it.
So I then edited mine to say teach me for trying to have a bit of a dig and after I posted that the message was deleted, I'm guessing from yourself :p.

I played against a team doing training and since I'm still on stamina training (waiting for 3 of my 1st XI to recover from the qualifier's injuries) I've fielded half a team to see if I could make it through...
Turned out I could have field my trainees in the end! No injuries so no harm done...

edit: yeah I was just tidying Uber's mess... he must have edited seconds before I deleted the first one!

Happy to get through. My seconds are quite weak so we'll see how we go.

I got out shot and out rated tonight but came home with a 3-1 victory.

Didn't watch the game though, only looked at the stats
