Asunto: S17 - State Cup Announcement

Due to the involvement with the U21 and our busy work life Vivski and I are unable to organise the State Cup this season.

Rather than doing half a job we prefer to give the opportunity to someone or two individuals to step up and organise it.
We will provide all the templates and all the various competition format to those (or the one) motivated to organise it.

What does the organising involve?

- get the team to register, 24 teams is the ideal. Post in every forum of australia (AL,II and III) and NZ (AL, II)
- do the draw
- find 4 hosts for the friendly leagues
- send sk mail to every team involved to let then know the draw and make sure they register in the right friendly leagues
- publish results every week
- once the first round over, send sk mails to alert people of the fixtures for the play-off (2 weeks)

roughly... a lot of chasing and fixing cause people go awol every season. But it always works out at the end for everybody's convenience!

Oh.. just asking.. in case an Australian user was curious...

I'd like to do it, but I havn't even competed in a cup yet to know how it works. I have only been in Sokker for about 8 weeks, and I would not even know what happens if there is a draw for example.

I have all the time in the world to do it, but surely some one with more experience than me would step up. I would be a good assistant untill I know how things go. Then, when I know how things work I could do it myself easy.

I do hope you find someone, and if that someone needs some help I'll be there.
If you can not find any one I'll have a go. I'll definitely need coaching :)
I would rather work with someone, then do it alone.

I think maybe after reading this, all the necessary info should be placed in one thread, and we should all pull up our socks and spend 10 seconds visiting the thread to see who we play / which group to join; instead of one manager spending minutes (if not hours) chasing everybody up.

If there's no real interest, I vote we just set up some friendly leagues and give the SC a season off.

We don't have enough managers from each State to make it a proper competition anyway.

It wouldnt work, you can never get everybody to steer in the same direction and everyone to pull up their socks... You cant prevent people not loggin in.
Just try to manage 20 people in RL, unless they're slaves or have a very good work ethic you'll end up chasing people for info or results.

Plus to be fair the info is always placed in the SC thread each week and it doesnt stop people going awol even after sending them a sk mail.
Not doing the chase would definately results in a worst result as a reminder can go a long way most of the time.

As Viv said, maybe we should give the comp a rest, unless someone can team up with Blagoja...
