I'm running for election again. Looks like it could be a tough campaign to win this season.
Anyway most of you know my usual speech by now, so I've decided to make a new one.
Basically I've now been in control for 8 seasons and over 100 games in charge. The past 3 WCQ campaigns have all ended up in disappointment after missing by 1 point or less.
This season I intend to qualify us without falling short.
The current season was a bit of a weird one. We lost the MWC final for the 2nd time under my reign. We then happened to hit a snag towards the back with fixtures largely because teams had already arranged matches in other tournaments within 24 hours of being elected. Those that weren't were attempting to do the same thing as we were, that was gain ranking points by playing opposition underneath them.
Consequently I never got around to running the competition match that I normally do as I couldn't find a suitable opponent.
We still managed to gain ranking points for the season and whilst it wasn't much we moved up to 25th in the rankings.
Aims for next season are definitely to qualify for the world cup, continue to assist in the support role for the U21's and to put things right and beat NZ after they beat us twice this season :).
Feel free to ask questions, I'm sure there will be a few certain questions headed my way :).

don't you think that is too much for you?:)
What you can bring new now, since you have not succeeded in eight seasons? i think is time for refreshing air at NT!

Whilst there is still drive and commitment from my end (and also while the users back me) I'll continue to run. I've still got ambitions to compete in another world cup before I think about moving on and I know I can get us there.

Depends what you classify success as. If it's all about World Cups then perhaps but there's more to it then that. Besides which, we've missed out by 1 pt or less the last 3 campaigns so with a little bit more luck we could have easily qualified for 4 world cups in a row.
I've been here 8 seasons so I've obviously done something right ;).
At this stage of my management it's not about necessarily bringing anything new, it's a case of improving and consolidating what's already in place, making sure we're set up for the future and we don't suddenly lose everything we've built in place. Still when opportunities for new ideas come up I consider them.

Yes, you've got us there, and you can probably do it again (with 'mediocre' luck) - but can you get us further? ;)

Depends on the group. Polska,Italia and Brasil we can probably say goodbye no matter who was in charge. One thing is though we'll be closer than the last time when we got spanked 5-0,4-0 and 4-0 if we make it. Whether we can squeak out of the group depends on the playing group we've got available at the time as well.
As far as teams go, I'm pretty confident we can beat anyone from rank 20 down. The top 10 ranks will be exceptionally difficult, the next 10 will be tough but with the rub of the green along with a tactic to give us a chance there's always a possibility to win.
Still we shall deal with that if it happens. Have to get there first. We've got to break the pattern of missing by small margins. I've put us into as good a position as we can be to draw a group that allows us to have a chance of getting into the WC. Now it's just down to the draw and the actions that follow afterwards :).

What's this? A cometer election thread? Where have I seen this before..
Only the last 8 seasons :P Havent seen a [NT] Tigermaster thread in the Oz Forums before tho! =)
if you are a little fair play , you should give a chance to tigermaster or me to prepare the next NT game against Scotland...
so if tigermaster or me , get the tactic wrong then voters will know who to vote with!
do you accept this challenge , or not?:P

why should I do such things in the first place though :)
a) I was elected for the season and I intend to see it out (it could be my last game if I'm not re-elected)
b) They already know what Tigermaster can and can't do from countless seasons of managing Malaysia and U21 Australia :)
c) How can you prepare a tactic without knowing the skills of the players?
d) Eventually I'd have to put the entire tactic in anyway :).
I'm not against having other managers contributing to tactics for matches but I don't see what 1 match will achieve. You don't judge someone's credentials off 1 match. A lot of users can already see what you can do with your club side anyway :).

Totally agree with you.
If you are elected you sure better to the best out of it the whole periode! :)

Do you believe you will do a better job in the upcoming season than Tigermaster would?
That's a difficult question to answer as I dislike comparing myself to other quality candidates, but I believe I should do (although not by much). Mainly because after having 8 seasons of NT management I think I've got some key differences in the fine points of tactic making particularly in areas such as throw in setups, defensive positioning and better control of striker running and blocking space. That's not to say Tigermaster can't develop that because he most certainly can, but it does take time to fiddle around and work out different tricks that if timed properly can create or save chances.
Almost everything else he'll have, communication, dedication, tactical formations etc, so there's not too much difference between the two.

How would you compare yourself in the area of player positioning for goal kicks ;)
Not particularly impressive ;). I know how to get them to be rather successful but it then sacrifices a little of what you can do tactically. For example, if you need to play a back 5 and a winger (due to them being your best outfielder and they can't play anywhere else) then it's incredibly difficult to get the goal kicks working properly unless the keeper has large amounts of passing. Yet if you use a back 4, with a diamond like formation without the use of a winger, the kickouts perform much better.
