Asunto: S18 - Australia Cup
It's moreso the high passing that results in those miracle through balls.
I tend to disagree from many seasons of NT management and experimenting with different types of players. PM seems to be the killer, along with striker positioning/runs and whether the opposition defense is exposed. Passing just adds the accuracy to make it even more deadly.

1-0 up after 10min, great this looks like it could be a comfortable cruise to raise a supporter mood.
60 odd mins in, still 1-0 after the opposition keeper became superman.
They score from a long range cracker and it's 1-1 and I'm thinking, it's not round 5 yet surely...
Get up the other slot a penalty before I could start to get a bit concerned.
End up winning 3-1. Gets me through to round 5 now but I didn't gain any supporter mood (well not enough to bump me over a level if I did). Wonder who we draw for round 5, time will tell.

Some amazing goals in the Tribe vs Dragons game today.
Hirons' sole goal from 12 attempts was a stunner from outside the box at the death.
Both Dragons' goals were from outside the box as well, the second was a mile out. Great stuff and made it a close game until we scored 2 late.
Link scored a dribble-goal after some good work from Hirons that saw the pair of them dribble/tackle a number of defenders and the keeper before finally walking it in.

I think you could struggle to create a highlights package of Hirons goals without having a lot of them from range. Seems to be a regular habit for him to slam home awesome goals but struggle to put away the easier ones.

won a game i wasn't expecting to win, much less off penalties! marks the furthest i have ever been in the cup. anything after this is nothing short of a miracle, methinks...

Inspired me to go back and look at all his goals I have on video (seasons 6-14).
He didn't score from outside the box until my qualifier at the end of season 8 against Tollygunge.
He had 2 from outside in season 10.
6 in season 11
4 in season 12
10 in season 13
2 in season 14
Might have to go and get my A-League title season goals recorded for posterity I think.

10 in season 13 is a sharp spike. Could almost guarantee he'd land them from range for the NT too, just has a strong knowledge of where the goals are.

Those numbers include NT, League and Cup games.
I've got videos for 7 for the NT, including a memorable pair that were part of his hat trick against England

Ah ok, yeah that game against England took him from 2nd string to being a valuable member of the 1st squad. Was also the first Australian player to score against England from memory?

Team Following: The Black Flashes; AFC Fyllbright and Fenerbahce_FC
Yes I got lazy, so last round is skipped and this is what happened
TBF beat the charasmatic Llarmas to hold one of the positions
AFC Fyllbright lost to Tupp United
Fenerbahce_FC lost to Krayzee Coconuts to hand over that title
This round:
The Black Flashes proved too classy for Baldivis F.C. with a 23-8 shot count. the scoreline was very similar at 9:2 and with Voinea bagging 6 goals, and Flamant a Hattrick, Baldivis never really stood a chance.
Tupp United then came up against The_Comets. After the Comets grabbing a quick lead in the 10th minute, Tupp managed to equalise in the 70th minute sending chills down the comets manager. However, just a minute later, lack of discipline from Maninga was shown, and gave the NZ represent a Penalty kick that was successfully slotted home, and The Comets managed to get away with a 3:1 win.
Finally Krayzee Coconuts came up against worldclass Utd. Unfortunately, United didn't stand up to their named getting hammered in the 27:1 shot department against just 10 players from Krayzee. The 4:1 scoreline was probably a kind result to Worldclass, with Walle converting just 4 of his 22 shots.

"Close but no cigar"....from being down 0-3 after 34 minutes....we pulled it back to 3-4 with 8 or 9 minutes to go. No damage to supporter mood is a bonus....but we lose Patterson (U21 defender) for a week or so. On the plus side, first team regulars Grierson & Escudeiro return for the league game.
Good luck to Terje in the cup....it was good to 'tango' with my old div II.01 sparring partner.

I don't see what decision there is. I'm pretty sure your seconds could smash my firsts on Sunday.
Well yeah probably but there are still other decisions to be made.
There was plenty of talent out there on the pitch Matty, don't you worry about that. Hirons + Link + Alosi up front is as much striking as I can muster... only guys that aren't up to scratch are Cain (CD) and Christie (sub-GK in tragic form).
