Mangos 162cm.... From an NT perspective that's devastating given he's one of our best defenders. From a club perspective that's awesome news given I've come out with reasonably tall strikers. TM got treated harshly with defender height.

Not happy my #1 GK is 177cm - I'd have thought something would've done to ensure keepers were a minimum height with the new "add ons", at least for the ones cutover this week...this is surely gonna play a part with sale value....& it's come right at the point where I'm hoping to offload him.

177 is about average though.

what....5'10" for a keeper....I think not.

SK should be putting these guys over at a minimum 6' in the old.

& just noticed from an NT perspective....Papaluca = 170cm.....Dihm = 172cm....not good.

from a sokker height there's no specialty for positions, so yeah 177 is about average of all sokker players heights.

so why have they implemented height if it's not to have an influence for positions, or to roughly mirror RL?

judy noticed I have 4 guys without height....LOL!!! I thought my squad was full of peons from the a Mexican farming village as it was.....but 4 guys at 0 cm....maybe they can go about totally unnoticed.

well it is to have influence on positions as mentioned in the news but currently afaik there's no special relationship for positions as based in RL.

just remember that the shorter they are, the quicker they pick up speed, so I think shorter keepers are probably better as they get to lose balls quicker, and maybe react to shots quicker (although maybe without the same reach)

yeah, the downside is that keeper v striker headers now favour taller players, so a short keeper has that disadvantage. So really it's just about tweaking things. Most of my players are tall, I don't really have any extreme short or tall players. Woodbridge my midfield trainee is about my highest at 192.

I range from 158-192cm

I'm like 170-192, though my defenders aren't as big as I'd like them to be. At least my strikers all have some height which can be put to good use :).

there's a funny post in the Int'l forum...some guy saying he hopes his keeper is a midget with long arms!!

looks like a few managers with no height against players so it's been raised to the devs.

so far, my tallest is 184 with only 3 players over 180....my shortest is 162 (no pace) with 5 in the 160s....average squad height 174.

Praying my 17yo excellent defender is >180.

Short defenders are better for wing backs, because they are faster and don't need to head.... just like real life!

which is fine if we had the same quality for other taller defenders as Mangos brings but we don't. Mangos would imo be our best central defender on skills alone so it's a pretty big blow. Whoever is in control of the side should be able to manage to juggle positions around though.
