I'd be waiting for 11 players.
You don't want to be giving up walkovers with your junior team as it affects your fans mood (even if only slightly)

I will follow that advice.
Tipping On Matches
From the 8th-9th of December you shall be able to either tip the score in any game you wish or comment on the outcome of the game. This feature will be available within the TV studio which shall be opened a week before the match takes place and shall remain open for comments after the match has finished.
This new tool will enable you to see how others think you may do in the game and it can also be used for some cheeky mind games against your opponent.
Sounds like fun. I can't wait to read some of these comments :)

if you can't wait 6-7 weeks and realise by yourself you have a dud in your school then you're not going to have a very profitable YS regardless of the level of your coach. Accuracy or not you can pick the stud from the useless junior yourself.
I know full well it's a management game & those in lower leagues or newbies need to be patient....most of us started at the bottom.
However, what I'm alluding to is those with poor coaches aren't going to get a true reading & the worse the coach, the worse the accuracy of the junior rating....& if they can't afford enough juniors to form a team, how will they be able to spot the stud from the dud?
I'd be almost inclined to recommend newbies leave the junior school alone (until financially sound).... purchase some $2 16-17yo trainees from the transfer market...& concentrate on building up their stadium.

I consider myself a noob at sokker.
I'm definitely not sure which road to take here.
My plan was to built up my stadium, then look for good players on the transfer market once my stadium was big enough, and able to support my team better financially. I was prepared to stay in my div III until I had reached the stage where I was ready to employ good players, and have a real chance of promoting to div II.
This junior league has surely made the game more interesting. I think I can understand both of your arguments. If I start a junior school, and I manage to produce some excellent talent in it, then it can pay for itself, and would be worth it in the long run. Or I can opt to build up my stadium first which will turn over enough money. My stadium can generate enough money to cover my staff, and players payrolls if the stadium is big enough. It don't happen very often these days, but I still do get days where my stadium wasn't big enough to seat everyone who wanted to watch the game, and I could kick myself for not having a big enough stadium.
I think I will will choose a junior school because I want to be able to understand what you guys are saying in the forum about the junior school. If i don't have a junior school it will make it harder for me to follow what you guys are saying. Also I choose to have a school so I can get the extra games in each week. I am here to play sokker games, not get rich. It will help me practice different tactics, coz I havn't been trying any new tactics, but in the junior school this is a great place to try new tactics, and modify my current tactics. And my last reason is that even though it is a manager game it is only virtual money, so I loose nothing.

Each to their own but my personal opinion is what's the point of increasing a stadium you can't fill ;). Extra expenses per week + no extra income. I didn't upgrade my stadium until my 2nd season I'm pretty sure.
Youth school has always worked for extra payments for me. You won't be able to start with a magical but a formidable should be possible (approx 17-20k per week). Then whilst you get juniors, if you keep the reasonable or better ones you can easily make more money off a youth school than you can by expanding a stadium before you're selling out. A guide for expanding stadiums is when you're constantly selling out regardless of the weather or else when you're selling out regularly in good conditions and coming pretty close to it in poor conditions.
Edit: Also juniors you get out of the youth school that you don't sell immediately can be used as a training slot where you get more chance of picking a better talent junior for cheaper than you would off the market and it can save you transfer fees (though it's more effective for those looking higher up the chain of trainees then those starting out).

Sure everyone is entitled to his own opinion...
I just don't colour the picture pitch black straight away.
I agree a bad coach will not help but if the newbie goes around and read the many newbies forums available here and the couple of juniors forums, he will soon be able to separate the dud from the cream. The youth players forum is a good example of a place where people can realise what needs to come out of a YS. That in itself should help the newbie compensate for the bad coach.
And as cometer says, you can start easily with a excellent/formidable coach for little to nothing expense..
I agree with you, it is probable a little more tricky than before but with a little bit of research one can still make it through in good shape.

Well we all know what Big Kev would say about all this.......
Personally, I say that I will not regard the junior coaches word as if it is gospel (unquestionable truth). I will instead watch the games, and decide for myself as the manager what is best. That way I can only blame myself.
I will also look for these newbie forums that you mentioned Minkee.
Thanks for the links below V.

Remember that the youth coach's main job is to train the juniors. Tracking the talent in YS is only part of the job. The main this is that the youths improve so they are as good as they can be when pulled.

True. I realised about an hour ago that his main job is to train the youths, and for that reason it is better to have a more competent junior coach. Predicting their talent should be left to the tarrot card readers.

In case anyone missed this post from rtg in Sokker International (29-Nov-2009)...

From the first friendlies after the play-off games a new match engine shall be installed.
In this new engine the major changes are all related with your new junior teams to enable junior matches to be played.
Juniors play based on their current hidden skills, which level the play at is related with how well their total skill is visible on your junior’s page. Juniors will play as if they were in superdivine form. The juniors pace, for game purposes, shall be increased by 5%. This is to make the viewing of the junior games less dull. Juniors cannot be injured after the match i.e. if they are injured during the game they will make a speedy recovery directly after the game is finished. Yellow/Red cards and goals are not recorded either.
Other modifications are:
- Players height, the taller the player is, decides on how well they perform on a heading duel with opponents, on the other hand the shorter they are will allow the player to speed up quicker (but maxim speed is still same for short and tall players and depends on their pace skill).
Height has been balanced to not favour short or tall players, but it does matter what style of play you prefer - e.g. if you use the wing more, passes on head or rather through passes.
- Players may now block an opponent slightly while running to the ball, how good they block depends on their experience. For example an experienced defender will be able to either block or at least slow the attacker somewhat. Players will not block while heading. That change was tested three seasons ago and is now introduced.
- Tactical Discipline skill will now have an increased influence on the player’s position accuracy according to tactics during match.
- A defender will now watch if their team mate is behind them and basing on it decide to dribble or to pass in a hurry if opponent is close, this will decrease number of stupid loses of ball by defenders and also let you use defenders in offensive actions.
- NT players will get 50% of training instead of 33% while playing in a national match
- The offside numbers are now counted and displayed
