Asunto: Australia Cup

2010-01-06 12:01:01
Demonstration today as to why leaving Paredes to free space is a bad idea :). Manages to pinpoint strikers heads so frequently. 7-0 win over CNF in the end and did it pretty comfortably.

Yeah if at all possible I'd like to avoid a couple of dangerous teams next week, though we'll have to wait and see.

Just squeezing through the last 16 with 10 men and its unique plastered front line... not mentioning the ugly tactic!
In a word, happy!
2010-01-06 12:57:41
Can you squeeze 1 more win to make the final 8 :o. Final 16 is a solid effort though.
2010-01-06 13:09:24
I'd like to but considering who's left in it now, I will need a divine intervention to go one better...
Not to mention we're playing Singapore 2 days after, it might be a bit too much to squeeze in in one week!
I guess the draw tomorrow will help decide... nice to go that far for once anyway, the cup has never been my cuppa :)
2010-01-06 13:15:13
well if you win 1 more round, you get prize money :p.

Happy enough with 7-1 over Taigum...shots 19-4....conceded first goal not for the first time. It'll be interesting to see who we get....may influence whether a couple of youngsters get a run out in the league or the cup. :-)
2010-01-07 00:44:04
how much?!
2010-01-07 07:04:32
hmm...
I think the draw answered my question...

I might be far too optimistic here, but I think you can beat TBF if you've got a decent defense.

1) They're unlikely to change lineup -> chance of having them injured/suspended before the Wednesday game.

2) They're unlikely to change tactic -> easy to whip something up to counter

Sure it's a very low percentage chance but you're getting 50 odd marks with your 1st XI, that should allow you a good chance to do some damage. Tong beat em last season for example.

Tollygunge for me. Breathes a sigh of relief in that it wasn't MM or RG. Should be able to progress another round with trainees.

I think you are being optimistic! TBF first team is too much.

Pretty sad to see FG going inactive.

Especially with this guy in their team

Mark Gulessarian 9495135

I could cry :(

Me too, I think my defenders are ok but I have no where near the striker force Tong used last year to beat TBF. I think a defeat by 3 will be an achievment, there's just too much quality skills wise in TBF's team.
Worst draw possible but will to give it a shot anyway...

Shame something can't be done to help the NT when top teams go BOT & take their NT prospects with them.
2010-01-08 00:07:03
?
I thought if the player was part of the 40 players short list, when the team goes BOT, the player ends up on the TL...
2010-01-08 00:31:44
well let's hope he's still getting training!
2010-01-08 02:18:26
I thought the player was only released once the team was up for removal, not just going Bot. I don't see TBF dropping far enough to be taken over by a new manager any time soon.
