Asunto: Australia Cup

2010-01-18 12:39:08
Easy win coming up for TMP here. I am not sacrificing training for the cup.

Fair call. I'd have done something similar although winning the cup should qualify a team for the CC next season which adds extra incentive for myself to win the cup again.

Never an easy win against a team of your quality.

The Cup is a priority for me this season, so it's a 1st XI game for me.
I'll be hoping to make the semis for the first time.

I'll let you sort that with your mate... :)

Geez mind games everywhere :P

I'm hoping to get to the semi final and then we'll see how we go from there. Would like another crack at the Champions Cup but I've got to earn that chance again. Think I'm able to get past Larikan tonight but it's still essentially using a few trainees for training.

Well i'm going to lose tonight. It will be one of the first times this season i've remembered to change my lineup for the friendly timeslot

8-0 win but at what cost. Was Larikan players instructed to take out my team or something. 10 fouls, 5 yellows and 1 red. Managed to hack Paredes and Lesado off the field.

Then that gets added with 3 fouls from my side with all 3 of them being yellow, and 2 of those 3 yellows result in defenders being suspended. There goes this game on Sunday against the Roar. That's exactly what I didn't want to have happen :(.

Really stretching the friendship having 4 players either unavailable or not fully fit from my ideal starting XI. Hopefully Masi recovers by Sunday to drop that to 3 and whilst I could use Paredes slightly injured, I'm not entirely sure if I will due to the lack of performance. Anyway, we shall see what happens.

Well as promised I played for training and kept my first team midfield off the park, and almost won it with my lovely tactic. 89th minute winner for TMP.

At least you were the only one not to compete in a blow out. It is amazing there is a such a difference in the final 8 teams.

I reckon I might have won by a few goals with my first team midfield in. TMP definately didn't expect the tactic.

Nice stadium and nice full house!

Well the secret is obviously starting your side with the letter "T"

The Comets
Tribe
TBF
TMP

Between TBF and TMP I'd probably feel more confident drawing TBF because at least then I know the formation they'll use and in general I struggle against TMP.

Your tactic did allow a shot-count of 15:2. Your keeper did an excellent job of keeping you in the game for so long. Croxall could not score from his 7 shots, but luckily my replacement hack forward (very good striker) put in 2 of his chances.

I look forward to coming up against your 1st XI in A-League next season. Olechowski is one hell of a striker!

You can have Tribe, cometer... I'll take TBF. ;)

My favourite was in the 17min when Willey broke the off-side trap, setting up a 3-on-1. He was denied by Polivka and Croxall somehow fumbled the crumbs when he had an open net to walk into.

It was funny, while I thought the game was in hand... not so funny when I was 1:0 down at half-time.

TMP it is, whilst Tribe draw TBF. Should be interesting semi finals.
