Asunto: Australia Cup

TMP it is, whilst Tribe draw TBF. Should be interesting semi finals.

You certainly deserved to win the game by more. It was amusing to watch though :D

Semi finals tonight. 2 winners with a chance to not only win the cup but be a representative in the Champions Cup next season.

Crunch time this week. Vivski focussing on the cup means only one option if I intend to try and qualify for the CC again. On the positive side, I get Bernardico and Aktimuroglu returning back from suspension. I guess the most important addition will be that of Masi. Our record with Masi playing has been impressive to say the least over the past season and a half. Think the only game I lost with Masi was the CC match against RRH in that time. My A League losses have been with Sillaots in goal.

I think my official record against vivski in terms of competitive matches and not friendlies/state cup games isn't too impressive. 2D's and 1L I think so far and I was probably fortunate to secure a draw a few rounds back when I was 3-0 down after 18 or so minutes and then again 4-1 down at the break.

Hopefully with an almost full list to choose from I'm able to put in a solid performance. Failing that I'd like a minimal amount of injuries/suspensions as I will have to then turn to chasing down 8 points on Tribe to win the league.

I think in the other match that if naph wants to win the cup and goes in with a strong XI, they'll be too good for TBF, otherwise it might be a close encounter.

Good luck to the remaining 4 of us in the cup, may the best teams on the day win.

Well that was a little unexpected. I would have found space for Lesado had I known vivski was going to use mostly 2nd's and played him SI. Anyway that's one step closer to winning back to back Australia Cups. The other result was a little surprising too, didn't think TBF would be able to get up and win. I've now got TBF 3 times in the next fortnight.

Comets vs TBF in the final then...

"Back to Back"
or
"The Phoenix strikes"?

Should be a good game...

History is against me on a few fronts but I fancy my chances more against TBF then I would Tribe as I find it a bit easier to create chances against TBF. Still not an easy game but you wouldn't expect an easy game for a final.

TBF finished better on the day.

Had a few things counting against us, with Kanter, Pinas and Puca all starting the game SI. (As was Parker when he came in)

Then we lost Krog in the 1st minute, and apparently I didn't have that conditional covered, so Thompson had paddock all game. That should have ended the game right there, but he wasn't as devastating as he can be.

Parker came on in extra time, but in hindsight I should have brought him on in the 120th minute instead of the 91st as his lack of pace cost us the deciding goal. Of course he did save a string of shots later, so maybe he kept us in it too... who knows?

Oh well. Have internet at home at last, so I should have the time/ability to do some squad restructuring that needs to happen.

Good luck to the finalists.

Sorry cometer, I got completely sidetracked and didn't even set a tactic for the game. Hence my 1sts didn't get a run at all. A bit of a let-down for what should have been a good game.
Good luck in the final next week.

No problems, I was a bit sidetracked myself until I found time to tweak up a bit yesterday before the game. We've still got a round 14 duel to come where we can make up for this with another good quality game.

Sorry to any fan mood I destroyed in the process, as it would not have been that high had it been 2nd v 2nd or 1st v 1st. Good luck with the A League :).

Ouch! Madly in love to depressed in one hit. C'est la vie.

Cup final in 2min. Hoping I can win but we'll wait and see. I'm confident but wary.

Edit: Should be a high scoring game too, much like Sunday.

Bowen puts the Comets up on 40 mins

1/2 time. Erdogan always seems to be in the right spot to cut off the TBF attacks. All of the TBF offensive players look very dangerous whenever they do get the ball however.
