for sure but sometimes there isnt discussion... anyway back on topic, it's Uber's place for his election :)

Hey uber, you've spoken about your qualifications, and there's no doubt you're a quality manager.

What I'd like to hear is your plan for the U21 NT. What you hope to achieve but more importantly, how you're going to achieve it. How will you set up the team, how much time can you commit to building and discussing tactics pre-game?

You will have a wealth of tactical knowledge to draw upon. And I'm sure we will be supporting you with the World Cup campaign.

If you have the buttons, you will be responsible for the results, so it's up to you to take all the advice on board and then make your own decisions based on that advice. In my experience, that's the hardest part of the job.

Can you tell us a bit about how you will prepare for the big games?

Good luck with your election campaign. :)

I spend a fair bit of time on this site and usually doing nothing. This U21 would give me a chance to put this time to good use.

First thing I would do is get myself to the U21 association. The place where the "leadership group" (I hate that phrase) can discuss matters in privacy. The next job is going to be to update the players in the U21 list now that the majority of last years players have gone. I am going to have to get to know the players pluses and minus well.

Then on a game week I would intend to scout the team early in the week and try to come up with a tactic I like. Assuming everyone kicks in some ideas I will then come up with a tactic I like and post with my intended players. I'll do a final check after Thursday update to check up on any pops or form changes and then off we go.

I'll listen to everyone's ideas, but in the end I will ignore everyone if I think my ideas are better. I'm happy to live and die by the sword. And lets face it... come friday night and we lose, Cometer won't be singling anyone out for constructive post match criticism except me!

All the games this season are going to be massive with the world cup coming up. There will be plenty of interest in how we go. We have a pretty good team, but lets face it - when we come up against a gun team, it is going to be prayer time. I'm got a few tactical tricks up my sleeve and those super hard games are the ones where I will try and surprise the opposition manager with something unexpected. Surprise is the only weapon you have when a team has ratings 10 above yours.

You've had access to the U21 association for a season now. As for updating the players in the U21 list or NTDB you can thank Achmid, Vivski and Naph who have been doing this for the last few weeks (and me also!). That's cut for you :)

Don't assume everyone will kick in some ideas because it is not going to happen that way. You'll have to engage them first and I suggest you get a buddy you can rely on to assist with the task. You won't need 25 views at the start, it is just going to confuse you as tactic at this level is nothing like you have experienced before. You'll see what I mean after a few games, there's some sharp tactician at that level.

As Viv said, at the end of the day you're the one with the buttons, we will all understand it is your responsability :)

And lastly, drop the bundy-coke... :p

I thought I didn't get accepted to that association when I applied. Doh! I could have learnt a lot listening in to those conversations!

I was drinking bundy and ginger ale tonight.... :)

You mean you ran out of our aged home breww?

Congrats on your new position, uber. I look forward to seeing what heights you can achieve with our young chargers.

And thanks to Minkee for an excellent season, qualifying us for the World Cup and further establishing the U21 management platform. Minkee's work will help uber hit the ground running.

Good luck, uber. With the group we've drawn, any points will be a bonus. Nothing to lose.

Consider this my official bid for re-election. My achievements since last season:

CLUB: Steel Fury went the season undefeated in II.01. I missed out on a qualification game to the A-league due to a goal in the last 10 secs of the match between Tong and TM giving TM the top spot and the Qualifier. I used custom tactics to thwart stronger teams (Tong and TM) in all 4 matches against them to finish with 2 wins against Tong and 2 draws against TM. I didn't win due to a harsh draw mid season against a weaker team. I can admit my tactics were weak for that game.

U21: I think all in all the season was successful. The world cup started disastrously with a cocked up set of orders which lost us the game after a very bright start. We won the 2nd game against stronger opposition before getting smashed against powerhouse Serbia after I rolled the dice with a "unique" tactic to match the Serb usual tactic only for the manager to change his tactic for the first time in many game *boo*. Since the world cup we have been undefeated and smashed all comers in the Asian Cup. A lot of those teams had similar average ratings to us. I would like to think it was my tactical nous which made the difference ;) Asian Cup Final is tomorrow, so that will be interesting to see if it wins me votes or loses them! Over the season I have added over 200 ranking points to the team and have taken us to be the 2nd ranked Asian team. 1 place behind India. I have also taken us up to no. 37 in the rankings.

THE FUTURE: I aim to take us inside the top 32 in the world. Our future looks very bright. We have an awesome batch of 19 and 20 year old midfielders at the moment. This hopefully bodes very well with the new multi-pass ME. We have one of the best 19 yr old GK's in the world in Ellrich whom I am personally training up. We are a bit soft up front and at the back, so tactics will definitely be 5 mids at all times I think.

THANKS: Thanks must definitely be given where it is due. Cometer, Minkee, Vivski, Napthali and Achmid have all contributed a lot in the background where no one else can see. Thanks!

Any questions are welcome....

do you wish that o'neill had more pace? and are you happy that schammer will fit perfectly into my training plan and the U21's best interests? :P

I'm running again this season. I'm hoping you'll give me the opportunity to take the team through the World Cup which I qualified for with flying colours this season. We had some great results this season. We beat Sweden twice and beat France once and drew with them in the other qualifier. This meant we qualified very early on.

I think most of you know me by now and what I can do, but if you have anymore questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

Who is your Movember Mo this year modelled on?
2010-11-09 11:20:20
I never have 1 mo. I go from big to smaller each week. At the moment I have the reverse goatee.

If anyone wants to see how I looked last year and donate some money to a good cause, go here:

THE FUTURE: I aim to take us inside the top 32 in the world.

Didn't quite make it there, as we're now 39th. That was an ambitious goal though, given the size of our youth pool.

This season will be in two parts... World Cup U21... and then trying to improve our ranking for the next campaign. What do you have up your sleeve for the second part?
2010-11-09 12:48:21
UBERFurious' Mo Page!

BTW, impressive chops!
2010-11-09 13:18:06
I put on a couple of hundred ranking points, but we didn't seem to move anywhere :(

I think the key to gaining ranking points in U21 is playing cr@ppy teams. No point in playing Poland etc.
2010-11-09 14:36:22
only 5 out of 96 votes?!! WTF...who's voting for the other chumps!!
Come on Aus managers....get your vote in if you want somebody who actually gives a shite about our NT.
:-)
