Australia wants to be strong again...
Only ranking number 37, thats hard for the Australian soul.
But in this season, the big aim is to come back, to be under the first 30 if possible.
I created a interessting but hard playing calender..
week 2 -Israel U-26
week 3 -Mini-World Cup
week 4 -Mini-World Cup
week 5 -Mini-World Cup
week 6 -Mini-World Cup
week 7 -Mini-World Cup, or Sweden
week 8 -Mini-World Cup, or Switzerland
week 9 -Mini-World Cup, or Greece
week 10 -Peru
week 11 -Hungary
week 12 -Norway
week 13 -England
week 14 -Chile
week 15 -Malaysia
week 0 -New Zealand
week 1 -Bosnia
The Mini-World-Cup can bring us a few easy enemies. But the others are strong.
Chile, Norway, Israel etc. are strong. It will be a hard season :) But this is, how it should be.

Hmm you appear to contradict yourself when you say you want to get to rank 30 and yet manage to schedule difficult and likely losses at the end of a season going into a world cup qualification the following season.
Are you sure this is the right approach, or is your main intention to generate some challenging matches in an attempt to keep user interest?
You will come to understand why I ask the questions I do at election time to candidates ;).
If you're happy with the schedule then I'm fine by it but it does seem a little contradictory by shceduling sides like Hungary,Norway,Italy,Chile all of whom we'll struggle to beat if its a 1st XI v 1st XI match or an U X v U X match.
On the flip side, if you do win those games we'll make the top 30, so it could work out.

You are right. It`s a hard schedule.
But I wanted it like this. I had offers from Malaysia etc, but this doesn`t interesse me ;)
I think like this: If we can win 1 out of 3 games against these big teams, we will get more points that we lose. So I have to create good tactics, and we need a bit luck.
And you sa it right:
For the users its more interessting to play against Italy etc then a game against a little country with poor players.
Do you personally think its a good schedule or not? ;)

Why not play a game against Malaysia? There are a couple of users here who would get a kick out of it (Myself being one as I previously managed Malaysia) They are tougher than you would anticipate
Ok, if you want, we can play Malaysia :)
The problem there is: They aren t so bad, but they have less points.
So we can lose much and win less...
But if you want, we can :)

Well looking at the ranking points of teams in australia, teams that are often at the top of the rankings are those that dominated weak teams. The relative ranking difference really doesnt play that much of a role in the final ranking points.
I'd liked to have seen us play relatively easy teams, so that yourself or whoever the next caoch is, has an easier job in next seasons world cup.
Anyway, if you are a good tactician, I think anyone is beatable, but then again, you need to be good, and we are yet to see one way or the other.

new zealand is our traditional season ender :P
I try to get New zealand in week 0.
And I booked Malaysia.
And I booked Malaysia.
Now we got all games.
I`m really happy with them.
I got Switzerland, and most important: New Zealand.
Italy had to change, so we play now against England. An other great game in my eyes.
Hard schedule, but interessting and in my eyes there are many possibilities!!!
So: I`m looking forward to a great season.
This saturday will already be a hard game (see extra thread), but I`m sure that we can make a first step forward...
