Just looking through my old transfers at where ex-Tribe youths and players have gone and decided to put together an All-Tribe Home Grown Team.

Only players of significance to miss out are two U21 representatives. 22yo Sal Storey (13 caps) and 21yo Benjamin Bird (5 caps and counting).

Last time I did this I had gaping holes at the back with no keepers of note and hardly any defenders worthy of the title. Libbesson is a bit of a fudge at DEF, but my selection criteria was aiming for the highest collection of best marks across a valid formation. Half the team have played a significant number of games for my team.

Anyone else ever had a look at something like this for their team?

So by definition you don't actually have to have them in your side as well, which is why you've included Copping and the like?

I could quite possibly do that sometime over the weekend. I'd have had a few decent ones in there I'd have thought. Might be a bit short in defense though, we'll see.

I've only been manager for 6 months less than you (we're talking about 5 years vs 4yrs & 6 months), so the time difference isn't great. My YS has been up and running since the very beginning, and I've had a brilliant youth coach (yeah, I know you guys have magical/unearthly) for the past 3 years.

What's there to show for it?

Just two decent players, and that's Noel Ando and Stewart Fihaki. I have pulled two excellent keepers, but they were already 21/22, and just served as my 1st XI GK.

Do I have bad luck? :-(

I found that a lot of these players in my home grown team, were not actually trained by me, and a lot of them didn't even seem like anything special when I sold them off. I found this took me about an hour to go through all my sales, make sure they came from my team, then list them by ratings, but it is definitely interesting seeing some of the useless juniors being trained well, and others Id forgotten about.


I reckon this would be a good topic for the National Coach to look at and possibly get updates on all the players that get listed.

OK, went through the entire list. Most of these players were sold 2+ years ago, so my memory isn't fantastic. Not (m)any good youths in the past two years... slightly concerning.

Pretty lean list which is very short of defenders.

I wouldn't want to take on my Moose All Stars...

I'd take you on. That defense isn't that much better than your current defense and my strikers get through that already. Given that my strikers are also home grown I'm not too concerned ;).

Haven't worked out the full details yet but I'd quite possibly have:

Defense very shaky, well I'm hoping they have high def and lowish pm/striker. However, that's compensated for by my midfield which can all tackle (except maybe not Cowan, in which case I'd just put Boutsianis or O'Donoghue on instead). Strikers is where all the action is. Having an Australian NT member coming off the bench suggests it's danger for opposition.

Others I'd name purely for something to watch out for.

Slater's the only danger as far as I'm concerned. I'm licking my lips at the look of that back-3. You'll need to support them with DMs and winbacks... that will restict the supply to your 4 attackers, letting Bolton & Tarka control things. You'll have to hope Masi's in better form than Papaluca, 'cos it's going to come down to conversion of opportunities.

Erdogan and Kalac would be quite dangerous too. Defense is worrying though, but it depends under what M.E we play. Current or previous. Under current I think I could get away with a weakish backline, given the quality that I know I have got in my midfield.

I know Erdogan's skills are far from being correct in the NTDB too so that might be misleading and Kalac hasn't been updated from probably when I sold him off 8 or so seasons ago.
