Unfortunately only one team from Australia this season, but I'll do my best to make it count.

Got a difficult draw first up. JIocu is a very strong team.

Got beaten by a better team. We survived 'til pens but out of 6 pens, only Cucciardi could score.
My backline was immense, but the front 3 didn't do the job at all. Cernikovas' crosses were rubbish and Butea didn't win any 50/50s.

Disappointing loss, but it was a tough draw. If it weren't for Sahara in goal, we would have lost by 4-5 goals.

Back again for another crack. Luckily both me and naph qualified for the Champs Cup.

The bad news is that I've once again drawn one of the toughest opponents on the other side of the draw. And have to cover a couple of injured/suspended players.

Tribe has a better draw, so at least one of us should survive the first round. :)

Anyone know if domestic red cards affect the champions cup?

Puca shows up as red on the squad selection page, but I wouldn't have thought domestic suspensions are used/cleared during champions cup.

Edit: For the record, domestic suspensions do count for the Champions Cup.

Good luck vivski. Your opponent has some gun players. The Canadian striker and ex-England NT Mid both looks impressive. Hungarian 19yo keeper looks pretty impressive too.

I managed to scrape home (0-15) in my game. Hopefully that inspires your boys.

Indeed. You both should fare pretty well in this competition. Although winning the thing isn't likely, it wouldn't surprise me if one of you went a long way this season.

Sahara recovered from his injury on the morning of the game, Beke stepped up to cover Bolton and my newest acquisition performed well.

The draw hasn't got any easier for me though. Up against AkunA this week. All the while, snowy gets an clear run. Tribe should get through their next game.

Once again, I'm touch and go. Will give it a shake.

Well that was pretty bogus.

Leijer (#1 striker) was SI'd in the 3rd minute making him largely ineffective all game.

Balabanel capitalised on his crap form to get himself sent off in the 18th minute with his 2nd yellow of the game.

We toil away admirably, and start getting a lot more of the play after they too go down to 10 men, finally drawing level late, only to almost immediately concede softly at the other end.

I couldn't overcome my injuries in the end. Didn't quite have enough quality to scrape through.

We should change this thread title to just champions cup, that way we can use it to discuss the matches without losing this history from this thread.

Anyway, this season we have two teams in the champs cup. Both cometer and I are favourites, with myself having about a 3 pt rating advantage and cometer about a 17 pt difference.

Good luck in your first match mate, any hints from people would be more than welcome, even if it is just to put off anyone spying on this thread :P

Comfortably through to the next round of the champions cup with a 3-0 win. No cards, no injuries, only thing that would have been nice is if my striker converted more than 1/10.

Oh and I got my best ever average mark :)

How does he own a team scoring 60 ratings with such a rubbish stadium?!?

Yeah I didnt see how poor the stadium was until after I got my gate tickets. Was a little annoyed at how little I got.

And for a team rating above 60, I was also disappointed at his team rating, meant I got very little for actually winning :(

Are you serious? Of all the teams I could have played, I got the team that knocked off the number 1 seeded team in the first week of the Champions league and happens to rate 75.
