Looking through their matches doesn’t look like I have played this team anyway so I’m probably thinking of another similar sounding team.

Chelsea.F.C 0-4 Kondori

No shocks there as they pull a massive 81.7 rating and were simply too good. It wasn't going too bad in the second half only down by a goal, but then my GK got injured (16 days ouch!) and a few more went in the back of the net.
Tactically I went with a compressed five at the back hoping to absorb pressure and nab a goal on the wing counter attack, while also praying this was one of the games where they didn't play a winger... alas, they did. I suspect if they hadn't played the winger this game might've been quite a bit closer as my defenders and GK repelled attacks well. Either way, a deserved win for a far better opponent.

Yeah most play wingers at that level. Usually a back 5 with 2 dms that act as mids and then 2 strikers plus a winger. That’s the typical NT tactic too although there are some small variants like playing a 3rd mid centrally and dropping a winger or striker but otherwise it’s much the same game every week. Think they could be changed if the ME let you flick balls over the press and your strikers would come
back onside. I mean that’s what would happen in reality

Got a hard one first up and put up a brave fight against an opponent who outrated me by 10pts. Deserved win for them, and a 22 day injury to my studly defender :(

carbonero-querido 3:2 Chelsea.F.C

:(. Doesn’t help we get screwed by inequities when it comes to finances. Double hit by lack of income weekly and inability to access the transfer market on a regular enough basis to make that a feasible strategy too. Maybe one day merged leagues will happen
2023-06-16 06:09:03
Yep. And to rub it in, supporter mood drops four levels after winning the league and then narrowly losing a Champs Cup match against a superior opponent. Dumb.

Wonder what the fan expectations were for the game. Would give an indication of whether you have more supporters then they do. It's possible you've had more supporters but they've just been playing the transfer market game to build a competitive team. Unfortunately number of fans is what determines how much you gain/lose in supporter mood and it doesn't take into account actual team strength. It's all artificial.

Yeah looks like you got beaten by someone who has access to the transfer market, They have net transfer profit of over $234m. Good luck fighting that.

Was it 4 levels from that match, or my match as well? I feel you would have dropped a fair few levels from our match
2023-06-17 04:53:35
It was most likely both, but I don’t recall checking the level in between the embarrassing loss to your schmucks and the honourable loss in the cup ;)

For my first round of the Champions Cup, I was up against the South Korea (Daehan Minguk) duel champion for last season, who scored over 200 goals in the league, going through undefeated (and 1 draw), and who won the cup final 5:0
They have won 6 titles and 6 national cups.

Going in to this match, I managed to lose both my strikers (no reserve) to injury in friendlies, as well as another player I used as a reserve striker (they aren't very good) leaving me with nothing up front, so to the transfer market I turned for a couple of oldies in not great form.

Thankfully this was enough as my midfield dominated the Korean team, giving my strikers plenty of shots to score some goals despite form.

5:0 for the first round win is one to be happy with, but the next round is sure to be much tougher, with Achmids Soul dropping to the lower half of the draw and coming up against "favourites" from now on

You will get to play at home though, if you care for that. I’m not sure how much to read into rankings being top and or bottom ranked sides. As a whole yeah but there are pockets of teams with high ratings but rubbish teams and low ratings with amazing teams. Just a luck of the draw scenario which one you get.

Wow, absolutely robbed by the ME there. Dominated the match for most of it and they scored off a divine keeper fumble and a cross field throughball that basically went between the legs of multiple of my players who apparently couldn't stop it.

The second match in a row they got a favourable result from the ME. What a shame as I exploited the holes in their tactic with both the tactics I used but was still deemed unworthy by the ME

Chelsea.F.C 4-3 Baragajul

A very even matchup in round one and a nailbiter as a result... decided in the shootout!

Congrats on the first up win agbell. Shame we didn’t get 2 sides in.
