Very bad draw for you! You may try a low defensive line with an elastic, in order to try to stop his strikers!

Thanks for the tips guys. I made a couple of errors, but in short, we were demolished by a superior team. When your Polish international midfielder is dispossessed from behind by the opposing striker, you know it's not your day.

My team is still in transition and will be stronger next season. Hopefully I get another chance at the Champions Cup and get a more favourable draw.

No Champs Cup for me this season. Go for it über, go all the way!

Looking just at ratings, I should be competitive. With a bit of luck I could go on a decent run. Here goes.....

1st Round: Total pawnage of the Khazackastan National Champions. Even though their team wasn't very good, I went to the trouble of setting a tactic just to lay down a beating. The high secondaries of my front three allowed them to effectively lock the ball down their end for 80% and limit their shots to zero. Its a good start and Steel Fury have laid down a marker with one of the highest scores of the first round.

Oh.... and to top things off, got 5 players trained :)

Tactical Preview
Ratings: Both teams hit ratings above 70 last season, but Steel Fury probably averaged a few more points over the season.
Strengths: Both teams strengths are certainly the midfield
ФК Formation: ФК favoured a 3-4-3 formation in big games last season. It is amazing that a team can still have success with 3 at the back and in a large player-base country like Russia no less. If this discovery doesn't get naph back into the game nothing will.

Steel Fury Sneak Peak
This attacking formation is too tasty a prospect for me not to try and go outright to destroy. I have decided to take a chance and give him the midfield to himself. This breaks one of my cardinal rules of tactics, but idea is to let my Spanish and Austrian NT Central midfielders take the centre and play 2 on 4. The tactic hinges on them holding their own whilst outnumbered.
I'm breaking another tactical rule and playing a 2 winger tactic. This allows me to overload the back three, attack the vacant wings if either of my DM's make a tackle and the second winger can hit the box and goal sneak for rebounds and scraps whilst allowing me not to play my 2nd SI striker.

I haven't played a non-safe tactic for a while, but his unorthodox style has inspired me and invited me in for the kill. Looking forward the game and fingers crossed to make the next round where the really big teams are lurking.

Haven't watched the game yet - so tactical notes will come later. Looks like the tactic produced the destruction derby I was looking for generating 22 shots against a team rating 69.5. Looks like my tactically defensive switch later in the game, shut the game down like I hoped too. I didn't realise the summary showed the switched-to tactic. That's useful to know to trick tactically lazy opponents!

Looking forward to the draw today. Not sure if there is such thing as an easy draw in the 3rd round of champions cup but I guess I can hope for less hard..
