DAU put 41 past a hapless team.... nice.

I like the look of the push ahead in these games. I will be interested to see how it looks on Sunday with 2 good teams.

Not sure about the push at this stage.

My guys seemed to do a lot of pushing to each other, not just themselves. Is that tech? Experience? passing? PM? It looks useful, but what determines how and when they do that?

I did.

It doesn't mention using "Launch and Run" to "Launch to a team mate and run in a different direction".

I got it a lot from strikers playing close to each other trying to run, but just pushing to the other guy.

consider it as a launch and run where the player fudges the push ahead and you're fortunate enough to have a player in the right place to pick it back up again.

I don't like this as it just looks a bit fake to me. It's a clear one on one against the goalkeeper and instead of controlling and shooting as any striker would do, it's lets launch the ball forwards and chase after it. Whoops, it went out. So instead of even getting a shot off you end up with a goal kick.

Similarly I saw many instances where it put a player who was in an advantageous position into a worse position because they basically launched it straight into the opposition players.

Admittingly when it works it does make situations out of nowhere. I'll save my judgement for when they finish tweaking things.

I had strikers launch the ball out towards a wing, and immediately make a run towards goal. If that's not intended, then its certainly something that can (and will) have tactics built around it as it is very useful.

I'd say that this change makes pace more important than ever, especially on keepers.

It makes wingers with divine pace and not so much tech a lot more useful.

yeah that's something different and goes against what I'd seen. Most of the time I have my strikers close together so when they push ahead the other gets there first due to the other stopping momentarily.

I take back my statement then, it does look like they attempt to play in other players.

Still looks stupid when they're in the clear and try and launch it and it goes out of play. I'd rather they didn't do that.

It would be nice to face a real opposition next week as the scoreline is way too flatering for my 2nd XI...

We were 10 nil up after 24mn... That must be some kind of record...

pretty close I'd say. I got 10 in 19min with close to my strongest XI last season. Cup should start getting tougher from about round 4 onwards at this stage.

We were a big too good for Hadders today. I have a knack of drawing human opponents in the Cup.

Barnes scored his first official goal. And his rating jumped from 29 to 33 in one week...
