wasn't sure how DVS would play so went in with a bit of a mix. In hindsight I needn't have worried. Scored 10 goals in the last 20min when DVS was without a keeper in goal but have now lost my best striker to an unnecessary injury. At least it's 10 days making me slightly more relieved that I hadn't set up substitution orders when the game was in the bag to take some players off.

Round 4 next week and again it looks like a relatively smooth match whoever I draw.

They were only dangerous on a throw-in, from which was born their goal.

& it was in the obligatory first few minutes which tends to happen when there's a gap between teams....it seems the ME gives the lower team a free hit on goal at the start of the match....I've seen it too many times for it be a coincedence.

Move through to the final 8 with very little effort. The cup really begins now with 8 sides left.

The standard tactics don't work too bad with the new ME! Civil were knocking the ball around nicely with all the space in the stock tactic. Might have to try some out after I'm out of the cup.

Hope you top 2 didn't miss out on training - massive wins!
Interesting to see the 1/4 final draw with some non A League teams still in there.

My 2nd team midfield is not so bad these days.... My tactic was dominated by the stock tactic though! Only my striker being much, much better than the defenders won the day.

Woops forgot to put Haliti in as striker, but even if it made a difference, I'd be out next round.
Anyway that was the point in selling us, so i didn't have to focus on my team. Mission Complete

Move through to the semis after a narrow but controlled victory against the bears (now a bot) on a pitch that felt like we were playing on a trampoline. Made things difficult for my 2nd tier midfielders to string together passes but we were able to come away with a 1 goal victory in regular time without resorting to conditionals.

Most games went as expected, though the Chelsea v Steel Fury game was a tight contest.

Don't really have preferences for who I draw next week as really they're of about the same strength and there's no easy games remaining anymore.

Some games your striker doesn't break a single tackle and you don't play any through balls... Chelsea deserve the win.

I've become less fussed about loss of training as sometimes the extra cash and champions cup fixtures become more desirable than 1 week or 2 weeks training. End of the day it's possibly 2 skills shorter over their career.

Everyone is entitled to their own preference, but I like banking a CC spot if I can as I can't always guarantee I'll get the position being the league winner.

Possibly the craziest result I've seen....10-2.
Victory offset by injuries & cards....would say I've racked up as many with both as I did for the whole of last season (part of me knew it was coming).
Heading away next week for a month's travel...so won't help with setting lineups & covering players.
Still, I think that's my first cup semi?
