Asunto: Australia Cup

It may be all you can do, but I'm getting mighty sick of this sort of thing happening, especially in big matches like this, where a team like mine, will not get many opportunities (only through a lot of work in buying players was I even able to put this strength on the park, and now I need to sell them all off again).

Of course I would have more opportunities if you werent coming back (I am very happy you are coming back, so don't take that as me not wanting you too), but I can't compete with people who have massive bank balances made when Australia was at it's peak, not seriously anyway, so when an opportunity arises, and you managed to make the most of it and have the better of the game, only for the ME to turn around an say NAH, it make it very very frustrating. I should have just done what I was going to do, let my 2nds lose a couple of rounds ago, let the cup fizzle in to nothing as it has for x number of seasons, and not been frustrated by the ME again

Maybe I'll throw the cup and concentrate on league. Maybe the other way around. I've got to get to A-League first. I can make all the plans I like, but if it all comes down to one game a bit of bad luck could throw me back into div II for another season.

Maybe.
Anyway, the A-League will be a better place with you in it :)

Unlucky on the game there G. I think if you're looking for the control factor where you do everything you can and you therefore win 8 or 9 times out of 10, soccer/football isn't the sport for that. It's full of randomness and this game is no exception to that. There's only so much control, the rest is down to the glorious RNG. Still frustrating though I know and I'd be spitting chips if that happened to me but over the long run there should be times it will go the other way (possibly won't happen as often as you get done over by the RNG since you're almost the favourite in all situations but it should happen in theory) The injury to your mid looked like the nail in the coffin from the look of the report.

I think you put up a pretty decent effort to win the cup and on another re-roll may have taken that one.

Unlucky achmid! Didn't watch the match but from the report it looks like you had slightly the better of the gameplay.

I ran out of time to build a tactic for this one so figured you'd give it a good shake. No idea why I had my injured striker in the lineup when I have a completely competent backup available!!

That's a bit annoying. I guess lucky for you, the injury was a less than 1d left injury, which would probably have better stats (as 1d SI) than your backup striker (unless I failed at my scouting, which is entirely possible).

BTW how much do you get for winning the cup? I got more than I was expecting

$400k. Chump change really ;)
2020-07-02 11:32:37
Yeah, still definitely chump change.
2020-07-02 13:10:39
What did you get? $200k?
2020-07-02 13:15:07
yup

Must be just about time for some active coaches to match up next round.

Relying on a lot of luck with the draw and the match itself to progress through to the quarters. At least I now can ramp up prices for the next round with a pretty good chance my home game will sell out. 1 round further this season then last season.

Well, can almost count my cup run over. On the plus side based on history (and there's plenty of it) I'm bound to get all the rng this round so who knows :P.

Well that was a pretty unexciting cup round.
The difficult matches start next week.

Who will use 1sts, who will use 2nds, and who doesn't even know they are in the cup quarters?

fantum para achmid
Lost my only GK in first half, then the replacement (who isn't a keeper anyway) got injured before the hour.

No GK for next 2 league games. :)

2-0 was a bit close for comfort for me at this stage of the cup!
