Asunto: Australia Cup
BTW congrats on taking agbell out too.
I don't know which teams will make the final next week, but it's basically numbers 2, 3 and 4 in Australia, along with Stamford who is proving he belongs in the A-League

Don't know, it's still a long way to break into the top 4. That may not ensure a clear path to the SF anyway, with Comets and MM on the rise.
Yeah quarters are definitely when things start to get a bit dicey.
Semis of the Aus cup are up tonight, to decide who will play off in next weeks cup final.
Of the 4 remaining, Ukes was the most recent winner back in season 42. TMP last won in Season 34, Achmid's Soul with this team have never one, however in a previous edition of the team, last won back in Season 15, and Stamford are still yet to add a gold to their Australia Cup trophy case (previous best of 3rd in last seasons Australia Cup)
Good Luck all

Looks like it is a TMP vs Achmid's Soul final.
Watched the AS vs Stamford match, and I was surprised to see the stats the way they were.
Watching on, it did not feel as though the match was as one-sided as the stats say. Stamford had an amazing goal to shot percentage (100%), although I felt they had more shots than that at the time.
It's a shame they don't have a 3rd place match, would be interesting to see Stamford vs Ukes

Some absolute horrid Victorian weather greeted the two teams in the final, but thankfully some of the stands had a roof above. Pundits are unsure who to bet on with TMP taking out the long reigning champions, whilst Achmid's Soul have been long time rated higher, although talking to Soul fan before the game they assured me of "an easy win". Boy will their mood drop if TMP come up trumps.
With both teams bringing in new recruits to help strengthen the sides, it was sure to be a cracker of a match.
Coach Vivski brought in Jeleń to cover a suspension, not long after just bringing in Rosu (for their quarters against Chelsea), whereas coach Achmid relegated the keeper who brought so much success already to the bench, by buying a GK off the games creator, offered de Carvalho another crack in the Australian leagues after previously causing so much damage here before, and pulled in an out of form midfielder, Leo, to cover previous midfield woes from way back when Rasori got injured. There are also rumours ex turkish striker Şuhutlu was offered a contract after injury, but a feud between him and the manager saw Suhutlu relegated to the bench and never finding his way on to the pitch.
Finally the game was underway and it seems like the Soul strikers may have been on the piss last night, because despite great opportunities in front of goal, they decided shooting was for losers, and instead tried playing keepings off quite unsuccessfully, leaving the TMP striker first crack at the goal. However it wasn't long before a Leo-Laki-de Carvalho combination saw a long range effort ping off the top corner and in to the goal.
With the great marking from both sides, not much else was to report from that first half.
Come the second half is when things started to get interesting.
Fremel decided to be a midfielder and upon trying to dribble the ball, pulled a hammy showing off the crowd. Vivskis strikers started to get the yips, and did their own best impression of no shooting scoring, forcing the coach to rip Casserly from the action and put in Marashliev for that special touch.
And finally the word went out to the Moose's defenders to hack down the soul strikers whatever the cost. Unfortunately for TMP, the ref was having none of that, leading to the first penalty kick which was almost stopped, but due to some irregular flat spots on the ball, rolled across the line. Then just 15min Viza, who had already been cautioned for unsportsman like play, is at it again, this time shown the red card followed by some words in Spanish, that only a few in the crowd could understand, but udging by their reactions, was not only hilarious but made baby jesus cry. Fortunately for the Moose of Power, this penalty did not end in a goal, leaving the door just slightly ajar.
The final 10 minutes saw both teams playing with flair with penalties, shots, crossbars and a few dropped shoulders thrown in, until finally the whistle blew, and the Australian Cup of season 55 came to a close, with the Soul registering their first Cup win since returning to the Sokker structure (previously won in season 15 just prior to the manager declaring himself rich and leaving whilst the club was number 1, only to return sheepishly broke and disheveled).
Whilst there was a winner today, both teams deserved to win, with now two dream runs for TMP in the Aus cup, just to come agonisingly close to back to back cups, and instead, go home with two silver's to add to what is already a full trophy cabinet

Congratulations achmid! Too good and a well deserved Cup win, thanks to some shrewd selections and tactics.
I was 4 days from getting my top striker back from injury, which may have made a difference. Maybe not, because you were able to exploit my team's weaknesses, exposing my weakest of 5 defenders.
I wasn't able to restrict your chances and wasn't going to win allowing 8 shots and several other chances.
Shame about the weather too, we should have been up for a big gate taking, but it didn't work out.
Congrats on the win and a big trophy!

Thanks mate. My loss to the comets probably didn't help with my supporters coming in depressed.
I wasnt sure going in how I was going to beat your tactic, as it has had the upper hand on this one a couple of times now, but then you also have a strong middle so going down the middle would be hard.
Thankfully my edits paid off and restricted a decent amount of your attacking avenues (although I didn't realise, in doing this, I actually also killed my own attacking avenues from throw ins, so we kind of just cancelled one another out)
I'm sure if your top striker was in, it would have made the game even closer, just making those half chances a bit more deadly. When I saw casserly on the pitch, I actually half wondered whether you'd accidentally played your seconds.
I did also spend about 20M to bring my rating up to a competitive rank, so the win will probably cost me a bit (I actually spent about 30M recently but that includes trainees and unused players in the cup, just because they were going for a bargain due to injury, so hope to make a profit)
See you in the cup next season, and with you being top 4 by then (my prediction), I, and I'm sure agbell, look forward to not seeing you until the semi finals. You have become a giant killer, on your way to becoming a giant, and it's scary lol

4-1 win....15 shots to nil. Now how can that be, I thought. Then onto the MR.....0-0 after ET. :o
4-1 on pens. :)
4-1 on pens. :)
Took a risk, didn't quite pay off, but needed to get my training back on track more than going a little further in the cup.
Good luck to the remaining teams

That's the end of my run....better raise those ticket prices!! :D
I think I'm in the same position, prices up and cash in on a great week of potential income as I have a home game I think against Achmid tomorrow as well.
