First match that I've wanted to watch for a long time, and it's already an hour late. :-( Has it always been like this?

I can't field a full strength team, but it's pretty close.

I almost stopped watching when my only striker limped off in the 46th minute. That was a death sentence. And then penalties... the better keeper justified his price.

Anyway vivski, always fun continuing our great rivalry. :-) Best of luck in the cup.

Yeah I think had you still had Kamionek up front you'd have won that in regular time. Kind of frustrating but in reality you'd want to have shifted Tamanyan to striker but there's no conditional order that if player X gets injured at any time, bring on Y and put Z in X's place, Y in Z's place.

I'd known you went into penalties because my game against Minkee went into extra time and when it had finished your game was still in progress, so I decided to watch it :p.

As for my game, 1st half was a shambles, players just never looked like they were interested in playing. Credit to the tactical switch from Minkee and Ielati's technique had a bit more than anticipated and it gave them the edge. Fortunately for me, Drum was up front and not Barnes or Meir. 2nd half was a little better, probably had a slight advantage but it wasn't by much. Erdogans goal was desperately needed and from then on we looked the better side. Extra time took it's toll on Minkee's players and we finally took control of the game after struggling for 90min.

On another day that could well have been a win to Minkee in regulation time, but thanks to some brilliant keeping from Gaina and some inefficient finishing from Minkee strikers, we were able to sneak past into the next round.

How Tymrowski didn't get shown to the showers after making so many fouls is anyone's guess. Very lucky in that regard as that space would have been enough to protect the ball from going to Ielati when we had a stretched defense.

Achmids or Tribe. Not really a choice I want for the semi final, they're both tough opponents. If I had to choose I'd probably prefer Tribe as I find it almost impossible to break the line of Achmid's defense. Either way I think I'll be up against it next week. Makitan unavailable and lack of a 2nd striker up front is stretching my results.

A very flattering scoreline for us. Classic DAU vs Tribe game though. End-to-end sokker, chances aplenty. Either team could have won it. A couple of class touches from Stewart and Puca gave Tasic enough chances up front to eventually get the job done. DAU very unlucky not to have bagged more goals. Parker was worth every $$$ for us between the sticks.

in the end, you were able to find the holes in my tactic, and had the players to exploit them. both of us had our chances but tasic took them much more clinically while parker pulled off a couple of great saves. the difference a few levels of form makes.......

I haven't watched the game but going by your comments I'm please of the progress made... if one can be pleased despite loosing. I'll watch it before the week-end.

I spent a bit of time on the drawing board and to lose by 2 after extra time against a team of your caliber and rating is a step forward considering the shocking last 15+ games I had in the AL.
Ielati is almost as good as Lawton and if Lawton had been in a better form he would have been on the wing. But I don't think he likes it there, ever since he's been on the wing his form has dropped so he's back in a CM/DM role at the moment.
Tymrovski has high def and tech so I'm not too surprised he gets away with fouling, I think tech has a role in tackling sometimes.
Shots counter is 21 to 10 so it pays to spend the money on a good keeper... I'm struggling to see where magical+ defs are efficient in this game at the moment though.
Plenty more tactical work to come... I find some motivation :)

They're not when the forwards they are up against have as much if not more technique and are in form. Still, it's better than having formidable defs. Against the top in A League you really need an entire divine backrow and even then it's sometimes not enough as in the case of last night with Skorupa against Ielati.

I was quite impressed with the improvement in your side from last season. I may have had more shots but most of them came from my midfielders or from low percentage chances. I wouldn't read into the shot count too much, the actual game was a lot tighter and with exception of extra time, probably had your side playing a bit better than mine.

Pretty even overall with both teams having their moment, it came down to the final touch.
Good game, enjoyable... nice to see my players actually playing well together :)

That was certainly how I viewed it. The longer the game went on the stronger my side appeared.

With that as a base tactic, with a few different varieties, you should trouble most sides in the A League. I'll certainly need a rethink come rounds 7 and 8.

Wow! Didn't expect 4-4, considering Zuniga was out injured. Got a bit lucky methinks.

I think today's the day I bow out of the Cup.
