Asunto: Australia Cup

As long as you end up with trainees sunday, I support the move :)

I'm training striker, and one of the guys is pretty borderline so I don't mind if he misses training for the later cup rounds.

Apparently my team is a bunch of butchers this season though. In 9 competitive matches I've picked up 10 yellows, 2 straight reds. Consider your guys warned :P

Just hacking my guys back seems to be proving effective. As I've picked up 3 injuries and 4 additional SI's.

I was more referring to my 4 best defenders being unavailable.
Pretty disappointed with the result, given the shot count.

Was hoping to go all the way again this season.

Thought you were harshly treated there. Parker had an amazing game in goal which allowed Tribe to hang in until penalties where they took control. Would have been a rematch of last seasons cup final but not to be unfortunately.

My team left it very late but managed to put away a winner in the final minute of regular time to win in a nailbiter 4-3. At 2-0 up I probably should have finished the game but my players went quiet for a large chunk of the middle part of the game and Achmid's really piled on the pressure and taking a deserved 3-2 lead. Fortunately that wasn't the end of the scoring, and a couple of crucial saves near the end gave me hope of scoring down the other end which I did. Game could have gone either way, glad it didn't go into extra time given O'Donoghue got straight red carded, I would have been murdered from through balls to Meir.

Tactic went ok, not brilliant, unfortunately I didn't account too well for the fact players will move out of the line to attempt to tackle if no other player is closer and that left holes for their midfielders to feed Izmanowski and Meir. Was somewhat hoping one of those 2 would have been injured or sent off to cut out the cross balls to disorganise my defense, didn't happen and we got found out on a number of occasions.

Still given the last few times I've played Achmid I've been taken to the cleaners, it's nice to get one back. On the plus side for both sides, no injuries and only the single red to O'Donoghue. Achmids getting through an entire 90min with no injuries or red cards against me is pretty much as likely as winning lotto but they managed it for once which is pleasing to see.

What an absolute travesty.

I could have legitimately have been down 3, 4, even 5 goals after 30 minutes. I had absolutey no right to be in the game at all, especially after Krog joined the injury list and was replaced by Atkinson. I stole an absolutely bollocks goal as Stewart and Tasic teamed up to dribble or tackle their way past everyone including the keeper.

Parker was an absolute wall all game, only letting in the screamer from outside the box by Zuniga.

Other than Parker I didn't have a good player on the pitch with Stewart in superdivine form being completely owned by Bolton. My defense had some good moments, but that just goes to show how dominant TMP was.

I'm embarrassed that I'm advancing.

nah, winning lotto would be achmid finishing the game without any injuries or cards, and winning it too :P

Congrats cometer. I made some tactical errors that were exacerbated by the early red card. We muffed some chances early, where you made yours. Second goals was bollocks, but that happens. Puca staring off the open man between your back 3 and a wing back a couple of times was annoying, I'm not sure exactly what he was waiting for there.

On the weight of chances and the flow of the game though, the game had the correct outcome. There were a number of headers that Bowen could easily have made and made the score embarrassing, so it could have been a lot worse for me than the 1-3 final score.

I was tempted to play Libbesson and/or Villafane, but I figured the NT and the back half of the A-league season was more important. Truth be told I don't think it would have greatly changed the outcome even if they were healthy.

It's been a long time between drinks but I've finally added another Australia Cup to my list of titles. Wasn't sure whether naph would sacrifice training for a chance to win the cup or not but I suppose with a number of regulars in low form or out with injury there might not have been a lot of choice.

Really happy with the way my defense held firm. The occasional slip up but for the most part they allowed my side to counter from the back and get the ball to Erdogan.

Thanks for the game naph, I'm sorry for the suspension to Krog. Good luck for the league.

Yeah my 2nd goal was bollocks but I think over the course of that match, I missed a few others I'd have expected to score. At the time I thought it made up for the missed penalty, though that changed when you missed one at the other end.

I think had you have played Leijer from the start instead of the left forward you'd have put my defense under a lot more pressure. Obviously missing Stodolka,Villafane,Libbesson through form made it difficult and the loss of Krog basically opened up Stathakis to do whatever he liked.

Edit: It's now down to borkos to make sure our cup winner qualifies for the CC next season, which I've always wanted another crack at after being bundled out in the 1st round in the debut season when I dominated the game.

Yeah, when 3 teams are separated by 2pts it's very close. Could be an interesting finish.

Thought as we are getting down to the better games. I thought I'd get this going again.
Coming up against last seasons winner or just in general the comets is always gunna be hard. Cometer is gunna be hard to beat if he thinks i'm hard enough to play his full strength. Although I do have injuries and suspensions to three of my main guys. Had to do ALOT of changes and playing players out of normal position. Hopefully it pays off and i only lose by 3 or 4 haha.

You won't get my full first XI side yet, too early to start sacrificing training, so you should be competitive.
