I'm amazed that Tong isn't leading. Sucks for him that the top 3 teams in div II are in II.01. Sucks for whoever comes 2nd last in A-League!

I think the frogs, snappa, larikan and krayzee would give you a seriously good run for your money. I doubt the top3 teams in div II are in II.01!!
Tong is AL material there's no denial.

I meant ratings :) They certainly aren't everything, but they are also a pretty good indication of quality! I think it is fair to say that the bottom 4 teams in the A-League are up for some pretty torrid qualification games at the end of this season.

70.7 Tribe A-League
69.6 The Comets A-League
69.1 Team Moose Power A-League
64.3 Achmids Soul A-League
63.2 Tong FC League II.01
62.0 Steel Fury League II.01
61.4 Chelsea.F.C League II.01
61.1 Snappa Serpents League II.02
61.0 Frogmeisters15 League II.02
59.5 Da Minkees A-League
59.3 Triggers Lads A-League
58.6 Melbourne Magpies A-League
58.5 Devil`s Angels United A-League
54.9 Krayzee Coconuts League II.04
52.9 Harbourtown League II.04
51.6 Dragons United League II.02
51.1 Alpine Hotspur League II.03
50.5 wicked 11 League II.02
49.5 Losers League II.01
49.5 Larikan FC League II.03

Ratings of plus or minus 3 means absolutely nothing as that's well within tactic range. Then factor in the fact some of those teams may or may not have as good a keeper which inflates marks but still have better outfield players.

I'm with Minkee, I wouldn't say you had the best 3 sides in II.01. I wouldn't classify Chelsea anywhere near the top 3 of II at the present time. I would say II.01 have 2 of the best 4 II sides though.

In saying that, I'd be pretty confident the bottom 4 (well excluding the automatic relegation) should be safe unless they draw Tong.

I would be good if there was a single league, below A-League, where the next 8 fight it out, to get in to the top 8.

I think Cometer pointed to the obvious... although the fact is, between Tong and SF, there's a whopping 1 season spent in the AL so far!

Also if you're going to take ratings into account, do it properly and take the average over the season and not just the one from the past week. Neither Tong nor you average above 60 so far... though unsollicited GK doesn't help I give you that.

But as Cometer said, you're both top4 and I can see 2 or 3 teams potentially doing better than the bottom 3 in the AL at the moment.

A motivated manager with a good strategy could do quite well in the A-League. DAU as an example were punching above their weight for a couple of seasons and are now a genuine contender.

A few of the challenger teams have plateaued in recent times. But even they have the base to build a solid A-League team.

Don't fully agree there. DAU aren't really what I'd call a genuine contender, they're more of a mid table side capable of pulling off the odd upset here and there but they don't have the side to win the A League. In terms of being competitive in the A League however, any manager with a good strategy can do well so long as they are motivated to do so.

DAU are easily a Top 5 team and established in the A-League. That's what I mean.
There are 8 spots in the A-League, but only 5 established A-League teams.

With some motivation, several of the top 2nd level teams could step up. If 3 teams step up, then suddenly you're looking at 8 teams with double-figure points tallies. Rather than squabbling for Top 5, we'd be trying to avoid 8th.

you've said it all.

I'm getting by on past motivation at this point.

You only have to be motivated for a while, don't think of it as a life-long Sk commitment :P
2011-06-01 09:04:05
You can afford to when you've built a squad like yours!

Only Cometer has a lifelong commitment to Sokker :)

Even I have my moments where I'm not really motivated to do things. I'm human afterall.
As for life commitment, who knows but at this stage I have no plans to stop ;).
