Realise it's late, but had been thinking long and hard about whether to apply or not.
I've decided to apply for the top job again after a lengthy period away.
A few things to consider when deciding whether to give me a vote or not:
1) Experience is not an issue. I'd have to be one of the most experienced users in Australia as it stands as I've been here since the back end of 2005 (where does the time go).
In that time I have won numerous titles and cups in Australia, have represented Australia in multiple Champions Cup and alongside Tribe (naphtali) have progressed the furthest in the competition of any Australian side to date.
I have also had the privilege of multiple seasons in charge of the Australian NT before (think my last count was 10 seasons) and am the only currently active user who has successfully qualified for the world cup with Australia's senior side (it has been achieved a few times with the U21's though only ever twice with the senior side).
More recently, have had a season or two with the Australian U21 side and results were pretty good.
2) I am solid with the tactical editor. One simply can't be successful without good knowledge of the tactics editor. I've experienced many match engines and have managed to adapt to suit each one. Whilst I'm less familiar with the current match engine, I've been playing under it for a while and my experience in the basic structure will greatly assist. Whilst tactics don't always pay off, more times then not they at least keep us in the game and I have had some very successful results against sides that should have been better than us.
3) I communicate with the community and whilst I expect most to do so, it is something I'm very focussed on as without the users, there is no NT and the game ceases to be enjoyable. Expect this to continue if you decide to vote for me.
4) I take criticism in any form (though I prefer it to be constructive rather than destructive but I'll cop it either way). I'm known for being quite harsh on NT managers, it's not personal, it's just I have high standards/expectations for what our team can achieve. So, therefore I'm open to harsh criticism myself and in fact encourage it so long as it's valid.
Ultimately, I'm putting my name up as an option. Please vote for who you think will best run the NT and not simply because currently I'm the only Australian manager applying. I don't subscribe to that theory and would rather be elected because I was best suited to the position.
Thanks again for your time and for any votes that may come my way.
Happy to take questions if you have any.

Have you got enough time to commit to each game?
Connection issues have been resolved and aside from 1 week in the campaign where I'm away for a weekend I haven't at this stage got any commitments that should stop me. Also being in Div 2 frees up a lot of time I don't need to spend on my club.
The NT has always brought out the best in me generally and I would try to ensure that doesn't fall down now.
Can I guarantee nothing will pop up, probably not, but I can guarantee if elected I'd find a way to ensure the NT did not suffer from lack of effort/time.

congrats, I think you are the best candidate (after me ofc) :-)
congratulation.

Thanks to those who voted for me. Appreciate the support I still have to do a decent job.
The aim for me for the season is a few things.
1) Attempt to qualify for the WC. A very tough aim but the draw has probably been about as kind as it's going to get these days for us given our position. A 3rd place finish isn't guaranteed either but I'd be bitterly disappointed if we didn't finish 3rd or better.
Ecuador first up isn't the nicest of matches to get back into the swing of things. Would have preferred France as at least that way, if things backfire it doesn't put your campaign on life support.
2) Climb the rankings.
We're pushing for a 4th pot place instead of pushing for a 2nd pot place. Whilst I doubt we'll make much progress this season given WCQ's, the aim is to start that process so we don't end up as a 4th seed next campaign.
@AkunA - if we're using the same NTDB as before then I've got admin access already. If you've moved away from that, then let me know and we can discuss via skmail.

Although maintaining ranking is a peripheral goal. It's a fluid thing. It's easier to climb from a lower position, wouldn't you say?
Qualifying is the main goal. So IMO we shouldn't be taking any risks for the sake of ranking points.
I agree that it should factor in our choice of friendliest, etc.
Will you be confirming the friendlies that Donni has tentatively arranged?
Good luck Dave, good to have you back at the controls. :)

Agree entirely, I'm hoping to make as many of these matches risk free as possible as qualifying has to be the goal. The friendlies are just friendlies, but if I'm smart enough we can organise something that might be able to achieve both.

Will need to take a look at those that have been arranged tomorrow and see whether they are of use to us given our current position but I'd like to think some of them will remain.
First weeks always a tough initiation, but hopefully I'm better able to sift through the details tomorrow and get to work on our first game Wednesday or Thursday.
In some ways, it would be more beneficial to have a friendly to start the season but it's never been that way so we'll deal with it the best we can.

Glad to be back, it's been a while. Did reasonably well with the U21's a few seasons back but my real interest is (and always was) the senior side. That may change in 16 weeks, depending on how we go, it's a long season :).

Does that mean Willis and Maras are back in the NT?

Good times, back when the match engine was fun and not frustrating as the current match engine seems to be. That being said, perhaps with the frustrating match engine I might be able to generate some luck to go our way for a change. I see our last 8 weeks of results have all been very close losses.
Somebody i asked me when i was candidate last season that what i think about striker covering by defs., i dont remember who was it. I said I think this a good improvement. Good managers will find way how to score. Now i admit that i was wrong:) Because, now If even you dont understand to set your defs right, ME makes for you. :)
