Trying to work out how this game works... but just got all warm and fuzzy randomly reading a forum about my all time favourite player Elrich :)

When I first came back, I started doing a lot of sentimental things, like making the old timers NT team based on who was still left (I went back through every single NT match to find the names).

And honestly the more I did stuff like that, the more I was drawn back. Because whilst I was doing it I was slowly building my side.

My goals were basically this (in this order):
Be strong enough to win div 2
Be strong enough to not auto demote from A-League
Beat the old timer completely inactive teams (but who are still strong from left over players)
Beat the active old timer, but maybe no ideal training/youth set up teams
Beat the active teams
Beat agbell.

And then alongside that with rankings.
Get top 16, get top 8, get top 6 (the actives), get top 4, get top 2. Almost all representing being on the right side of the draw for the cup.

I also had a tertiary goal, I can't win A-League or Cup, but I can win junior A-League, and I did this for a number of seasons.

I don’t think you slowly built a side, I think you’ve rapidly pulled together a good side. Shows how quick it can be done if you know what you’re doing.

Haha thanks. Yeah it was definitely a different strategy to what I used the first time around, but I think it has worked well in the current state of the game.

I would love to be able to pass that knowledge on to all the old timers who still don't have ideal setups here, but whether it be due to language issues, or lack of interest or just not knowing when to ask questions, it has been difficult.

Fantum has done well at getting more youth squads in Australia though.

I think getting up to 50:50 with all but your own team, can happen quite quick with that prior knowledge.

So we just lost 5 teams to going bot (although given how long they have been gone for, it is no surprise).

For the first time in a long time, there are two bots in A-League, so it's a nice little carrot for all the new guys. There is room for more, plus a bit of competition for the Q matches in the future.

Apparently we had an influx of 5 new users. Can someone post who they are because I can't see them in div2, and there aren't 5 new teams in 1600 points in the rankings

I think what has happened is it had logged a login for the bot and banned teams when the players we asked to be saved, were saved.

Now the game thinks they are active teams due to that log in.

Yeah the sudden spurt (after sx and mitch) were bot/banned teams being logged in to by Admins to sell off the players we asked to be sold. And because of the log in (or maybe something that had to be changed to log in from Admin perspective), the teams were suddenly counted as being users again.

It's good to see another couple of extra users in sudyji19 and Roman_, unfortunately I have sent both of them messages since joining and had no reply and no read message
