My youth school definitely isn't looking that healthy. I've only got 5 16yo's and only really 2 that I'd consider something worth watching.

The rest are all weak with about a dozen weeks or so. Don't exactly have the highest of youth school coaches though at the moment so that probably doesn't help. Also rolling some pretty bad numbers for juniors entering youth school. Been a few times I've only had the 1 or 2 join despite having space for 6.

This has got me thinking to maybe take a harder line with my YS, & banish players if not a certain level with a quality over quantity approach.
YS level is currently average(5). I have 24 slots atm, with 23 fills....3 of those expire in next two Thursdays, with 8 players at more than 20 weeks.

I am tracking them to aim for the following levels in line with early/late in the season -
16yo - weak/adequate (4-6)
17yo - adequate/solid (6-8)
18yo - solid/excellent (8-10)
19yo - excellent/outstanding (10-12)
20yo - outstanding + (12+)
Wondering if it's time to cull further & raise the age levels by one.

I think you just need to be flexible with the youth school. I try to keep mine at 26-27 players. If I seem to be going up (or at that number but none about to promote), I take a harder line and get rid of a couple, if my harder line is putting me at the 22-24 number of youths, I go a bit easier.

My goal isn't so much most value for money, but most youths out without accidentally not having room for that gun that would have come through.

It means I fire a lot (or sell a lot that get fired), but it does keep the door open for that random 16-17yo adequate that ends up being trainable, or that 20yo who came out excellent/formidable, poor talent, but slides in to the U21 team for a few matches because they got a good distribution.


But in general, I fire anyone I see at tragic and most (95%) of those I see at hopeless.
I fire most talents >10 unless coming out at excellent+
20yos must come out excellent+

I completely ignore the "average" of my youth school as it means very little

Not to mention the added conundrum of levels not being exact. I'm wary to fire first week in unless it's obvious, e.g. 19yo at 3 weeks & tragic level = noose (wouldn't waste a bullet). As opposed to 16yo at 8 weeks & poor level = might exit at good (7).

Will post my YS this Thursday. Looking forward to hear a few inputs regarding that.

Make sure to use the website for sokker asistente and update every week.
This will track your youths to give you the most accurate talent it can, without you needing to do the hard work.

It's probably only relatively accurate after about 10 weeks, but really the art of determining which juniors to keep and fire is part of the good management in this game

Yeah, I keep track of my main team players and juniors but I use Sokker Viewer for that which too is a decent software.

I use SV for everything else, but the talent in that is inaccurate as it uses the old formula (which changed when they brought in the new youth system)

Cool, I've registered on Sokker Asistente and will update my youth players on that every week.

It will take a few weeks before you see your first talent, and even that will be relatively inaccurate,but as more weeks are added, they will become more and more accurate.

You can add in old weeks from things like SV manually, but it is a bit of a pain in the butt

You have a petty good set (just looking at the one shot).

The two that I would give the boot too first if needed, would be Hardip Partha and Hardip Datar.

Bhavesh Smirti I'd personally keep as who knows, he may come out exc/exc GK/Pace which depending on the NT GK resources, may see him either get some games or be a good reserve, but he won't be worth anything if there are better GKs at/younger than him

Sacked Partha but deciding to give Datar 1 more week for a chance of redemption.
