TBF were so much better than everyone else, but they had no renewal program. Aging and I'm guessing transfer market problems killed them. Was a shame they never talked on the forum.
Boyd Singers were a great team, but they came in, made some $$$, spent it all on old stars. Won the league with an innovative compact tactic then pretty much retired straight after winning A-League.
I think I was probably the first team to have prolonged success with a younger squad. I suspect I generated the most $$$. But Comets, Achmid Soul & TMP had all caught me by the time I retired. Those seasons were dog fights, I was sad to leave the game, but it was the right decision for me.
The majority of transfers happening from 1-5am my time is still an interest killer.

The transfer market definitely hurts us in Australia, but at least we are all in the same boat. I guess it means we train more of our own, except for the odd staying up late/getting up early.
I think some of the older teams I remember doing well were Gondor Guardians, The Black Flashes and Punt Road Tigers. I think there may have been a team like Jyuukenu or something similar that was up there when I first started.
I'm not sure if PRT or Naph were the first real side to be dominant and have a bit of a replacement plan too. Comets managed to have a couple of early wins, disappear for ages (but still be competitive, and then come back strong.

To be fair, I do think the only reason we caught you was because you went to an all Australian midfield training regime. We had a lot of good youths, but I'm sure you could have had a couple of upgrades somewhere along the line that may have made it harder for us.

Yeah, tbh though I found yourself and vivski to be much more difficult to get past then TBF. I had a pretty good record against them even when they were at their prime. Their tactics were half the problem, as their defense was easily cracked open and then it just became a bit predictable to mark their wingers and hit on the counter (especially back when the match engine heavily favoured wing crosses to strikers heads). I really actually preferred the match engine when I first started as it seemed to allow for a much wider variety of tactics that could be effective but maybe that's because not everyone rocked up with divine based players. I remember an NT match agains Mexico where I stacked the whole side on one half of the field and it actually worked quite well and was a little unlucky not to have won.
They were good times, don't think I'll repeat and win an Australian cup in my 2nd season as I think there's a few teams much stronger then the top teams were when I started.

I don’t understand why you go so well in a system that is almost entirely rng when rng usually hates you :p. I mean if you watch matches there are clues as to what skills your players have but you don’t really ever truly know so you’re basically blind. Also matches are such a bore to watch in juniors and incredibly frustrating when a monumental stuff up like kicking the ball backwards half the field straight to their offside striker who scores and that determines the result occurs.

Im not sure what happened in the seasons I was missing, but I know between the two achmids soul teams I've had, I have more golds than agbell, so gives me a small chance that I'm the most successful junior a league coach in Australia :). Definitely by proportion but possibly overall

Was quite interesting going through the junior league titles, because some of the "archive" is all over the place.
The first ever junior league winner (in Div 4) took forever to find, as not only can't we access div IV anymore, but if you try to access it by looking at old matches and then clicking through, it has Steel Fury on top, with 90 points after 14 games. Steel Fury however did stop themselves getting a fake title because when you read his old notes, he was 1st until the final round, when he got a draw and got pipped.
This mean't having to go through every team still listed (and there are a number of blanks due to teams being removed from the game), and even having to go through teams from the match screen.
Div III was not as hard, but still a pain. Again trying to access via the normal method, nothing comes up, but I was able to find that Tribe took it out.
Season 23 did not record the winner at all, and there was no last match for the winner or chelsea, so I'm assuming one of them dropped out going in to the final week
Season 30 going through the archive, did not list the winner, and by what it lists, it would have actually been myself as the winner, but when I checked through why it messed up, I saw Chelsea was in the league, despite it not recording such, and that both his history and a post by my congratulating him existed to say he won.
